There Are Two Types of people............
Other
How would you finish that sentence? In the current pandemic I would have to say selfish and unselfish. but maybe you have other ideas, strong/weak, giving/taking etc.
Good topic my answer is, Those who make your life easier .... and those who make it harder.
Yes, and it seems to be half and half of the population. it's always nicer to be around glass half full people though.
Dividing people into two groups as you've described isn't what should happen, yet sadly that's what's happening.
John Lennon had the right idea. People should be united, not against each other.
I guess there are many inbetween. I don't consider myself anything special but I do consider myself way above murderers, rapists, thieves etc. The human condition is such that we are not all equal and some folk are way above others, or put another way, lots lower than most.
Santa v the Grinch eh? I must admit I don't know many folk who don't like the run up to Christmas but it can be very hard work for some.
Lynibis you have found yourself one person who doesn't like the run up to Christmas! I am by no means a grinch, but from the 1st of December trying to get pupils to do work is ridiculously tough! Plus Christmas songs are constantly sang by pupils or they want to listen to them in class, you have to watch the same Christmas movie over and over, plus they start showing them ridiculously early on the tv too! I will maybe find it more magical as my son grows up and starts to enjoy all the nice parts of the lead up, but at the moment I am not a fan.
MrsCraig Yes, I think you definitely come under the hard work bit. I remember how stressed I felt when young preparing for Christmas, especially if the in laws were coming! Now I spend it with my sister, son 1 or son 2 and don't have much to worry about except buying presents. I do have all the family round for pre Christmas dinners to do my bit though!
As you know, my granddaughter is a teacher and I guess it is a bit better as she teaches secondary kids who probably no longer 'believe'.
Lynibis I teach secondary kids too! They are just as bad! They are excited for the holidays, getting presents, the prospect of snow, the seniors aren't too bad but S1, 2 and 3 (11-14) are a nightmare! Also as an RMPS teacher I teach about the nativity, advent etc every year and the amount of kids who don't know the story and how it relates to Christmas is scary!
It will be much easier this year as it will just be the 3 of us, so don't need to worry about cooking for lots of people, travelling places etc
Those who think they represent the law and the justice system and those who think they are the law.
Optimistic and Pessimistic. I have always thought of myself as the 1st but at times this year things have looked very bleak indeed.
Lynibis apologies for piggy backing this one, although I will comment later, I couldn't find the book club thread. Johnny shared this one and it's worth a look. https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/deals/cheap-300000-second-hand-books-150-20-off-free-delivery-awesomebooks-5165?app=%E2%9C%93&utm_content=bufferc24d1&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=fb_page&fbclid=IwAR1CRkrCk8LjQ8wkX0qu94Q5SAP3AAGWt-tIfc7JKs_wwwKeb7aQIFXVmz4
I try hard not to make another topic unless I can't find similar. But I think a major current difference is the the jabbed and the not jabbed!
Reading through the above comments it seemed certain people didn't get this topic. You will never get everyone united on everything and I would not want to live in such a world, it would be like a population of automatons. It was intended to describe extreme differences between humans e.g. those who live for money those who are content with enough etc.
From my experience there's people that give and give and there are people who take, take and take
Glitterandgold You're point being?
I think that everyone tries to do things easier as opposed to make things harder for themselves.
TheChimp The easiest way isn't always necessarily the best way tho. Someone for instance might be inclined to cut corners to make a task easier but that could just cause more problems long term. It can work the other way too tho in that someone makes what could be a easy task harder for themselves by not thinking it through clearly or planning correctly before jumping in.
Those who work hard for everything they get/have and those you have everything given to them.
There are those who love marmite and those who hate it. I love it but my husband hates it so I pranked him and put it on a chocolate cornetto ice cream. He didnโt even notice it!
Those who โdoโ and those who procrastinate. I think I will definitely try to be more of a doer in the future. Life is short and who knows when our life may be restricted again.
