You need to look at the system as a whole. The amount of paper work, reports, parents evenings, information events, weekly SAT meetings, DIPs, analysing exam statistics, figuring out how to improve them, marking tests, homework, lunchtime patrols, inset days, working on projects to improve the curriculum, teaching 30 pupils at a time who each have different needs, discipline issues and lots of other things that teachers do to make sure the pupils are getting the best learning experience. The junior years are trying to prepare them for the senior phase of exams. School is not just about learning information to pazz exams, it is about developing skills, preparing pupils for the world of work, developing their personalities, helping them to be confident in their abilities. Teachers do much more than teach information and people forget that. The system has been changed so many times in re ent years, just as you have gotten your head around it, they change it again.

The UK education system does not want children to be taught about taxes, banking, money etc. in Mathematics instead children get taught stuff that in not useful in life.

I agree lessons don’t teach children what you need to know when you grow up instead the teachers have to teach things only certain very few people use....¿?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the U.K. education system automatically allow a student pass onto the next grade regardless if he/she is capable? That's a huge flaw right there.
