that's an interesting idea. I hate it when I try to look at an american news site and it says no you are in europe.

Yeah, it's also kind of confusing when people say "Europe", but they actually mean the EU.

Also, this whole thing of blocked websites reminded me of the days of high school with intranet (restricted internet access).

Seems some are split between using the two. Some clarification on the official would be useful.

Canada, for example, uses both systems and even the spelling is also a mix of EN-GB and EN-US. Example: Some in Canada pronounce Z as Zed while others say Zee, all the while with that US/CA accent you normally hear.
