Umbrella Users Are You Still out There?

Ask a Question

Do any of you still use an umbrella or do you just brave the weather? My mum is a frequent brolly user but I always find they blow me everywhere or hinder me when walking and then when I take it down to go indoors I usually hit get just as wet wrestling with it. Not to mention I forget it or lose it. What do you guys do when its cats and dogs and you need to be out and about?

I've not used a brolly for years.

If it's pouring, I'll try to delay whatever it is I need to go out for.

If I have to go out, I put on a waterproof coat, pull the hood up, and mutter to myself as I get wet.

I dont mind using them, but I often find that I only take them with me if it actually rains. If it doesn’t, I’ll just brave it with my coat or jacket

I prefer wearing a rain jacket, as it also leaves both arms free. Plus, on busy city streets they can impede other pedestrians or even be dangerous in distracted or selfish hands ☔

ACR wish more people were like you, see so many people not caring whose eyes they maim or who they bash

Only on special occasions. I live in Scotland, usually if it's raining it's windy too so you spend more time fighting it.

Live in Wales and it rains 70 percent of year I have no choice that need to go out in it because kids got to get to school and I walk then there and back umbrellas are pointless they blow inside out all time yes a lot of people will avoid going out in it but get a grip they won't to your skin is waterproof there are people out there who live and sleep in this weather

I always keep one in the door of my car but very rarely use one. It's so much easier to wear a hooded coat an keep my head down. (then there's the looking after it, sopping, when you go into buildings) I think there are too many cheap brollies available that have no strength. There's only one thing worse than getting drenched and that's battling with a flimsy umbrella and still getting wet. 🤣

Lots of the times they can not be use, because the wind is way too strong.. Also when u push a buggy... U can not hold the umbrella

Only if it's really bad rain with not a lot of wind. I tend to mostly just use a hooded coat.

Lol we have lots in the house. Think I’ve possibly used mine once this year to watch my 6 year old do a fun run in the wind and rain.

I took a big golf umbrella to watch my son play rugby last week and i had to abondon it after a few minutes because the wind was going to rip it to shreds (it werent a cheap one either).
