Unilever Prices Rising and There's Worse to Come.
In the News
Prices of Unilever's popular brands have jumped - and the worst is yet to come
Unilever says it is taking a series of actions to combat surging production and distribution costs - prices that consumers are unlikely to be shielded from.
Unilever, which produces foods such as Marmite, Cornetto ice creams and Hellmann's mayonnaise alongside goods including Dove soap, said it had raised prices by 4.1% in its third quarter and expected price pressures to intensify even further next year.
The marmite will be the thing that will affect me most from your list of items. I have it every day - at the moment - but if it rises too much I will have to reconsider.
Heres a recipe to make your own T
Others use nuts also

telmel That sounds jolly interesting T. I shall have to make friends with the local Batemans brewery and have book marked the msmarmitelover site.
telmel wow, that looks like hard work. I will either cut down my intake of marmite, which isnβt a bad thing as it means I will cut down on bread or I will go without.
I could do with eating less mayonnaise, the only things not going up are my wages and savings.
I think there are so many things you can make home made H, and you know there are no chemicals in it
Looks like shops own brand might be the way to go in the near future I personally like Lidl own brand Mayo and sauce more than the brand stuff
Heres another one that can be homemade M , and it lasts up to two weeks in the fridge

Funny you forget what a global company they are, when I think of Unilever I think washing powder
They have only told us what most intelligent folk know already ? There is 4% - 5% inflation in the pipeline already . That's without the surge in Energy prices (which we all including warehouses and factories need ) the record high fuel prices (all stuff needs transporting ) and wage rises .
We are looking at inflation , as it affects us all , to be 8% -10 % by early next year - Sorry get used to it , for a year at least . Don't bury your head in the sand , try to plan for it .
Work on EVERYTHING in your monthly /weekly budget being 10% dearer in the next few months and you won't be far out .
Many prices have already gone up, I see that in my Tesco shop as I keep a record of all the prices. (I Know I am sad...) Having said that some prices have gone down so its a job of trying to balance the two to try and keep my weekly shop spend round about the same. Just take full advantage of any genuine offers when you can get them. Horrified about the Marmite prices though - this is one of those items than cannot be substituted for cheaper pretend brands.
Isn't it amazing how these big companies can never take a bit of a loss themselves, offset by the huge profits they usually make?
Of course they don't give a damn for the little people, only their own wealth and well being.
I don't buy these products, I'm a Lidl or Aldi own brand buyer. My husband accidentally left a jar of Lidl mayo in my mum's fridge (we were staying with them till our house was ready) and my mum never noticed that it wasn't her usual Hellmanns mayo! If they raise their prices too much they will see a fall in profits as people will stop buying.
