Using Ghosts to Scare People into Social Distancing

In the News

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-52269607

so I’ve heard some countries have used more direct ways to enforce their lockdowns, from fining, beating, even threatening to shoot people

but in an Indonesian village, they have people volunteering to be ‘ghosts’ to scare people

It’s definitely the most unique strategy I've seen so far, although I doubt it’ll be effective over here

really? I suppose it might work for some cultures, depending whether or not they believe in the spiritual realm. Definitely a novel way to deal with it

Lol it definitely won’t work here. Some people really aren’t afraid to die...but making sure they catch it on video and posting it on social media

hspexy unfortunately true. When you read about people who are willfully coughing over others, that is just mental 🤬

Yes, in the Philippines president Rodrigo Duterte says he will bury people who break quarantine law!

Yikes, that‘s a bit extreme!

In the Philippines at least 12 people have been killed for singing "My Way" off key in karaoke bars, one of them shot by the security guard. . . now that's EXTREME!

I wonder if Rodrigo will let them sing it before he buries them - or will they be buried alive.☺

doesn’t surprise me - he is the famous mafia boss president! He’s said that the police will shoot anyone who violates lockdown rules - though he hasn’t said shoot them dead....

hspexy That's OK then, a good knee capping should be enough to keep them in, burying them will make certain they don't break the rules again. (two metres apart hopefully).☺

"although I doubt it’ll be effective over here" Me singing "My Way" at them might do the trick though, ☺

That would be OK providing that the person volunteering to be the ghost hasn't got the virus and is spreading it..... (It's a great way of being allowed out legitimately) 🐞

This is probably the best way to get people to stay home. I personally wouldn't to walk near a ghost
