Vaccine
Ask a Question
Should we really be giving vaccine to people in prison anyway for the likes of rose west and Gary gitter
I am a bit torn on this one as my gut says no but if covid was brought in from outside it would cause mayhem for the staff which isn't fair. If the prisoners get the jab so should staff so everyone under same roof is protected.
It's not to save their worthless skins , its to prevent the infection within jail . You might have read that Rutland moved last week to the top of the infection rates (from the bottom ) all due to an outbreak in Stocken prison with over 100 confirmed cases .
Golfforall its not that its to do with the fact there in the age gap to get it in my eyes staff should have it before anyone in prisons there in there for a reason the staff are doing there job
Of course we should.
The prisoner's sentence for their crime has already been decided in a court of law.
It is not for us, or the judge to increase that sentence in any way, that would be entirely unjust and would undermine our legal system.
You must not punish someone twice for the same offence.
This broad principle originated in ancient Roman law 'non bis in idem' ('not twice against the same')
Although it does seem a little unpalatable that some are getting their jabs before other deserving and law abiding people, the prison system does have a duty of care.
And as others have said, it's as much to protect staff and visitors.
