What Veg Would You Recommend Growing from Seed?

Strawb. I know not veg but i done it in nursery when volunteering a parent helper task

Got to think about bang for your buck . Carrots are always very cheap in the shops , so not worth it IMO. Chillies can be grown in pots (pick how hot you want them ) . Lettuce and radish grow very quickly and can be grown in succession in the same pot . Herbs far better in a pot as some (notably mint ) can take over your garden ! Even a window sill pot will do for these and will give your kitchen a nice aroma . Cucumbers , they are easy but really need support - an 18" pot with an obelisk support is how I do mine .

My tomatoes , strawbs , chillies and sweet peas are already on the way in their seed trays .

Tomatoes, onions, elephant garlic, spinach, runner beans and pumpkins or marrows. Berries like logan and blackcurrants.

Not much of a vegetable but cress is really easy even kids can do it and nice in a sandwich

For large pots I find climbing French beans are good. You can also get dwarf forms of courgette too.

toms, courgettes, french beans, mixed salad leaves and leeks all work well for me.

Tomatoes are easy to grow from seed. I grow mine from seeds saved from Tescos Cherry toms, i just scoop them out separate them a little and cover lightly with compost, in about 5 days you'll have loads of Tomatoes to prick out

My beets have managed to grow successfully, wind, rain or shine. They’re quite hardy. Even the squirrels don’t seem to be interested in digging them up (everything else, they destroy)

I grew Tomatoes and runner beans last year. This year i think I deserve a guest segment alongside Monty Don because I now consider myself a professional, or a farmer as I grew crops

We've had some success with potatoes and you don't need to buy seeds to try growing these. Take a potato, cut it into quarters and plant each of the quarters separately. The result will be up to 4 potato plants.

If you want to start early now is the time to get some broad beans in. They are nice and easy to grow and germinate quickly. Lots of advice online.

I know this is opposite but I found sweet corn the hardest to grow. I tried it kept attracting bugs

Garlic!

Runner Beans as they are usually quite expensive in the shops even when in season. They can be grown easy enough in large pots as long as you have some bamboo sticks as supports. You can also buy dwarf ones that can be grown in pots.
