Video to DVD or Digital
Ask a Question
Looking to switch some old Videos to DVD or digital can anyone recommend a decent company that do it, thanks
I did alot of mine myself with a dedicated video capture card a few years ago but tech has changed alot since then. You could try yourself, im not at all saying use this particular one, its just a random capture adapter i clicked on first https://www.amazon.co.uk/AITOO-Video-Capture-Adapter-Converter/dp/B07CLL4DLC
That probably will be expensive to get all digitized.
You could buy the device and make the transfers yourself. It costs around £12-14 on Amazon and you'd need to have a VCR Player.
Or a VHS to DVD Player
The prices vary, check it out here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=VHS+to+DVD+Recorder&_sacat=0&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1
With this method, you could then backup onto a PC with DVD Decrypter (free).
You probably need to check out locally, from what I've gathered it isn't too cheap. You could try buying a VHS to DVD recorder, they're not so common now but second hand ones are priced from about £60 upwards on ebay. You can usually sell them when you've finished with it.
If you still have a VHS player you can get a "Video grabber" and use your PC but I wouldn't recommend them.
I noticed there were three of us posted within a few minutes virtually all saying the same thing - the thing with the wires and plugs that PhilipMarc posted a picture of is exactly thing I don't recommend. I've had one for several years and although I eventually was able to transfer video the audio was very problematic. Others have troubles with them overheating and often remove the casing.
