Video Games :- platform option
Feedback
Can we get an extra option to the Video games section, maybe a drop down when you post the deal with the platform. PC/ Xbox / Playstation / Nintendo / iOS / Android / Other etc etc. Then a way to filter the section. This can then be placed as a filter on the main deals sections so you can sub filter to deals you want.
I personally find it a nightmare looking for a specific format as you have to go through each and every deal, even if 90% of them are not relevant to what your looking for.
I know you can search, but if people are poor at posting deals then the required information might be missed of the deal posting, and you then miss out on a great deal.
From a technical point of view I understand this would take some back end SQL database changes, but the table updated could then be utilised for other sections, technology for instance could have TV / Audio / PC / Other, etc... etc...
Kelsey is going to hate me with all my ideas as they involve a lot of back end work and coding.

Hey Fleabum thanks for all these suggestions - it's always great to get ideas and feedback!
Have you seen the tag system? For example: PS4 Deals
Every new post with "PS4" in the title should automatically get the PS4 tag applied to it.
I too am a big fan of everything being categorised so you can really drill down on things but we've tried to weigh that up with user experience and not having too many things to select/choose when sharing a post.
The tag system was designed to try and be the best of both worlds - additional categorisation without people having to select/choose categories themselves.
If you notice any flaws/failings with the tag system please let me know - or, equally, if you think the tag system (even with improvements) couldn't fulfil what you're after let me know too!
Thanks
Thanks for the quick reply Kelsey, dam workaholic.
I have seen the tag system, but this what I mentioned in my post, various posting skills of different uses makes tags very hit and miss depending on what you are looking for.
For example, PS4 is a good example of tags working as the majority of PS4 deals will be games, whereas you type in PC as a tag, you get 100's of deals that are not Games, so searching for PC Video Games doesn't work well with tags at all.
Now if you had the tag system that worked within categories, so you could go into Video Games, then search for the PC tag, this would work well... thoughts?
Thanks as always.

Fleabum Haha my work over the weekends is a little sporadic! I tend to pick out things that spark my curiosity or might be fun to do rather than the stuff I probably should do
You can do the reverse at the moment - if you go to the PC tag you can filter by Video Games? Does that work okay or have I got the wrong end of the stick?
I just tried a few out. When you do a search from the search bar for 'PC' you get this :-
So when you click on PC Game (which is what one would logically think for PC games. You get this list, where the majority are PS4 and Xbox games.
URL :- .latestdeals.co.uk/tags/pc-game?category=Video+Gaming
If you manually edit the URL to be .latestdeals.co.uk/tags/pc?category=Video+Gaming then it works alot better with only two out the top 8 not being PC games, but that's due to the type of PC hardware in the deal which are still game related
So the manual pc edited url seems to work well and does what I suggested earlier, but I am not sure whats happening with the pc-gaming search and/or tag, maybe getting split into PC and Gaming tags and displaying results from both ?
