Are You Voting Tomorrow Yes or No?
Ask a Question
Tomorrow is the general elections for voting
Will you be voting Yes or No?
Hope you all have a great day tomorrow
Of course - don't waste your opportunity to vote. We desperately need some change. Dreading the result on Friday though.
Unlikely, problem is I don't think any of them are any use, the shambles they've all made this year has been a disgrace and a total embarrassment to the whole country , wish we could get rid of them all and start again.
The shambles has been very one sided. There's only one party in power. If you don't like recent events, vote for change. Otherwise you can't complain!
MeestairChrees Disagree totally the other parties have done everything they can to obstruct, delay and cause as much inconvenience as problem as possible at every step of the way.
They are all to blame and regards of complaining it will make no difference to you or I whether you complain or not they they will do what they want as they are all interested in themselves only and that applies to all the parties
Mango4 of course the other parties are obstructing brexit. A no deal, or even the deal put forward so far, is very damaging, whether you want brexit or not. They're looking out for people. The current government do not look out for people - they only care about getting rich and they don't care whose lives they destroy in the process.
Mango4 thing is, you're talking about a shables this year. If you aren't happy, vote for change.
Whoever wins we all lose sadly. People export most of their wages destroying the economy and then choose which party of cretins can pretend to solve the problems caused by the general population. Even if we do manage to achieve Brexit it will be some years before the benefits of that are realised if at all. We just seem to be a country that have lost all understandings of basic economics and no one has put forward the logical viewpoint that with the huge trading deficit with the EU then we need to lower costs and wages in this country to not only create a trading surplus but also to create the money to pay for EU membership.
Every income tax payer currently has about £60,000 of public sector debt on their head that has been caused by the trading deficit, EU payments and the interest on those EU payments because we had to borrow that money in the first place.
Not one party has put forward any policies on how to reverse the trading deficit and start paying back the huge levels of debt. 2 parties have huge spending plans and the other is just wants to stay in the EU which caused the austerity in the first place.
I'll be voting but unfortunately whatever happens the UK economy is heading for a huge fall. If we stay in the EU we just continue to add to our huge debts and ultimately perhaps with 2.5 trillion of debt or 3 trillion of debt Brexit will be on the table again. If Brexit succeeds it will de-stabilise the economy probably for a few years. Ultimately we will get a lot poorer whatever happens unfortunately at least in the short term.
I'll be voting tomorrow for what I think is the option which I think has some small hope for long term improvement on the UK economy which has meant as a long term liberal democrat voter I now will vote Conservative which is a very weird feeling.
I honestly don't think there is anyway to repair our economy and start reducing our level of debt by remaining in the EU sadly but I'm certainly not enthusiastic about voting Conservative.
What annoys me most of all is many MPs have absolutely no economic training or skills its just a popularity contest. In a sane world 98% of the people currently MPs would not be there and that applies to all parties. To be a brain surgeon you need a huge amount of training but to control the destiny of 60 million people you just need to be some loud mouthed moron with a huge ego.
So for all those disappointed that their choice hasn't won tomorrow I wouldn't get too upset about it their choice would likely been as bad if not worse.
With respect, you're making a huge mistake.
If you're a Lib Dem supporter, you can't get much further away in policy and principles than the Conservatives. They stand against so much you presumably believe in. They have caused so much damage and will only continue to do so. I think you'll regret your choice once they've had chance to let loose. I really worry - they are going to completely screw us over.
MeestairChrees The current liberal democrat policies of remaining in the EU, creating more and more debt and austerity is just not sustainable. We either try to compete with the EU and lower wages and conditions or we pull out and control our economy to eliminate the huge trade deficit with the EU and stop giving them billions per year.
What can be more damaging than building up more and more debt and living beyond our means. At least there is debate in the Labour and Conservative camp about the EU the Liberal Democrats seem utterly idealistic with zero reality about our economy. People need to look at the office of national statistics site and see the reality of our economy rather than listen to politicians. That shows the absolute disaster of joining the EU and the effects of the UK economy. However as I've said before it is the general population who has damaged our economy they have happily exported most of their wages buying a huge amount of imported goods and holidays etc which has extracted huge wealth from this country causing huge debt because we never exported goods and services to the same level. Ultimately the government needs to have controls to prevent the damage caused by the general population and such controls aren't available while a member of the EU or alternatively drop wages and working conditions so we can compete in the EU.
When you ask the Liberal Democrats about how they are going to reverse the trade deficit and make a success of being in the EU so we can pay back our debts the response is quite honestly moronic and utterly disconnected with reality. The more we increase our debts the more amazing services like the NHS will be reduced as austerity ramps up even higher. If we are paying £60 billion or more in interest alone that is £2,000 a year of interest payments per income tax payer. That is dead money that achieves nothing which is why remaining in the EU is unsustainable.
There is no writing off our debts sadly even if we started paying off the debt tomorrow there is probably 30 years of hardship paying it back. As you can imagine getting £60,000 of money from every income tax payer in tax plus the ongoing interest is something that will take decades.
Ultimately there is not much in the way of principles saddling future generations with huge debts making your children and grandchildren suffer because you lived well beyond your means.
BonzoBanana but then why vote Conservative? They're so far from Lib Dem (and presumably your own) principles. Labour is the closest politically so it makes sense to vote for them. It seems very odd to switch from left to right instead of left to another left.
If you chose not to vote then you cant really complain what happens. In many areas a few votes can actually make a difference as to who gets in.
Yes I will be voting. It’s been about 100 years since men let us women vote so I will be using mine haha
Yes. Emily Pankhurst did not strap herself to railings for nothing!!! I sent my postal vote last weekend.
I agree, too many women gave too much for the female vote, use it ladies or it was all for nothing
Yes. My husband will pick us up after work, we will go for dinner and then vote on our way home.
Strange how this topic has managed to stick around considering political chats are not allowed on LD lol!
No, I'm not voting. The 1st election since I have been eligible that I have not taken part in. I don't like any of the parties. I don't like any of the candiates. I'm fed up with politics and I'm opting out of this years.
Not voting. Dont want any the options so want no part of it. Always been a labour voter but I believe this labour are selling us a dream & will drive us further into debt & a recession. I don't trust Boris with our NHS. They ALL lie & nothing changes. No point voting anyone else. We are screwed either way.
