Waitrose Flowers Glitch some Customers Valued More than Others
Freebies
I saw on Facebook the Waitrose flowers glitch that gave people £25 off their flowers meaning free flowers. Not ever managing to get away with any glitch I did it and thought it would be cancelled and I got the email today saying it was indeed cancelled. However I have just seen on Facebook screenshots and comments from people saying they got an email saying the code was not valid however as they are a valued customer they will honour the order this time, there are also many saying theirs has been cancelled. Some have already received their flowers too so well done to them. My point is how can Waitrose value some customers and not others? I have seen someone say they have never used Waitrose but got the email saying they were a valued customer and the order would be honoured. I myself am a reasonably frequent customer of Waitrose both instore and online but it seems I am not valued enough.Pretty poor really surely they should have either honoured all orders or cancelled all orders.Anyway rant over and well done to those who did manage to receive them.
I noticed this too. I wonder if the "valued customers" are actually just those that ordered flowers for a close delivery date and it's too much faff for them to cancel now as the orders have already been passed on to their suppliers?
That could well be the reason and I expect they didn't bank on people sharing the email saying they were a valued customer so would get them which judging by a couple of comments has not gone down too well with those who are actually customers and did not receive their order.Personally it won't make any difference to me on my shopping with them but I have fired off an email explaining that I don't take kindly to not being judged a valued customer when others who are claiming to never had shopped with them are.
jinxyjink I have seen a lot of members complaining as they did not get the deal. Sometimes, glitches can seem too good to be true and this is one of them. I am not completely comfortable with ordering from glitches. I know it can make savings, but it could also be a genuine mistake and may cost jobs in the end. Great if something is a bargain or a deal, but I am not 100% at ease with glitches and the mass marketing of these. Just my opinion of course.
Ceebers They certainly have done themselves no favours by not only picking and choosing which orders they honoured and which they cancelled but to also tell those they honoured it was because they are a valued customer. Whether using glitches is right or wrong is a completely different argument and one I don't wish to get into now or at any time. My point was that they had honoured some and not others and those they did honour were told it was because they were a valued customer which therefore said to those that they didn't honour that they weren't valued enough. They obviously had their reasons as to which ones they honoured but I think they could have handled it much better whatever the reasons were. Just my opinion of course.
Ceebers Yes, even Deepak wrote about this, that you can end up to pay the full price when it is a glitch and this is a risk you take when you order one.
I think Waitrose Flowers have a completely different customer service than Waitrose itself. I could not get the glitch, but I bought a flower from them for my Daughter's Birthday and it arrived with broken blooms. They did not refund the whole price just a part of it and it was disappointing, because if I buy in an other store I could get 4 of the same species from the price they charged.
Of course the picture looked different than the plant received, but they just tell you, that your local florist could not store the same pot and the flower can not exactly look like like on the picture...it needs to have a certain number of flowers, some may open some closed, some will never bloom. They do not care!!!!!! When I saw the poor plant after I opened the box I nearly cried. Obviously the plant damaged during delivery and they got the money back for it, but they did not replace my order and also I did not get a full refund. What a disgusting mess.....
I would not recommend to use them at any point! It is better to see the flower before you gift it, if you can.
Sorry to hear you had such a negative experience. Usually they are a great company with good customer service care. Sounds like that was not the case on this occasion.
