How Much Water Do You Drink a Day?
Ask a Question
I was surprised how high this was, I though it was 1- 2 litres a day but it seems to very with some sites saying 3 litres

TractorGirl327 yeah had right come down but in fairness i did get high i guess not lol i now i now
Go by the colour of your "output" - if its dark and you can smell it you're not drinking enough! I can't drink a lot of water so I put Sainsbury's lime juice cordial in with it - so refreshing and I drink about 3 x 750ml sports bottles a day of that makes it easier to drink too for me if its chilled
emmabeckz exactly! We are all different and some need more than others. We get water from other drinks and food too. No need to get hung up on arbitrary figures, some of which could have come from manufacturers of bottled water.
I do try and am a great advocate for drinking lots, but for me it is forgetfulness as sometimes I can go all day without feeling thirsty. Coffee and tea etc do count for your fluid intake, preferably without sugar. I do at least 6 cups/glasses of something or other a day, about half pint per go but as I am not sweating it out sitting around indoors I try not to worry, I know I will drink more when back at work and in the hotter weather.
not enough- that's my answer. i am terrible for drinking. if i am busy - i simply forget. sometimes at the end of the day ive realised ive only had 2 drinks all day... not good
Me too, exactly! I do try and get myself a pint of water to sup whilst I'm sitting at my desk though and refill it when finished.
davewalsh126 at least i'm not the only one. after this post today i have actually had more than i usually would! made me more aware of it
jamiepownall gosh! I’m the opposite. My day is marked out by tea and coffee breaks!
Grannyclock I wish I was more like that. Since this post I've been making more effort to try and remember
About 2 litres but most of it has either been through my Nespresso machine or distilled into gin!!!
I drink around 1.5 litres of water and around 1 litre of other things per day, but it varies depending on what I’m doing.
2l of water sometimes more, + coffee and tee. My morning starts with 2 glasses of water so its 600ml. If would advice to get a nice glass or a bottle, then water will be more enjoyable .
I don't think 3 litres is doable and I have heard recently that even the recommended amount of 2 litres and a half is not necessary. More like 1 and a half, not so much is required in winter anyway plus it includes tea, coffee, soup, cold drinks etc.
Not enough,I drink Juice or tea,and if I'm in a really good mood, strawberry gin and lemonade lol Ching Ching
Well beer is 97.6 % water (so they say ) , so I drink .................................. err I'll get back to you .
I don't know how much water I drink each day, I've never really kept track of it. I drink water throughout the day, filling up my bottle whenever it runs out so I think I drink enough.
I remember for the last few years before 2021 I really wouldn't drink enough, 1L a day if I'm lucky, but now I'm easily drinking 2.5L to 3L of water alone per day, That's not including apple/orange juice, cup of teas and other things
Like with calories, It depends on your activity levels. For instance, athletes will have to drink way more due to sweat. And drinking too much water can flood the system, so you shouldn’t try to over hydrate either
Water consumption to keep you healthy is not same for everyone. It depends on various factors like the environment, your daily activities, etc.
So if one says they need 7lt a day it does not mean you also need 7lt a day.
I used to drink 2-3 coffees a day and maybe 2 small juices since breastfeeding, I do at least 2.5 litres of water and 2 decaf coffees everyday
I used to drink coffee all day long no water . Then I got given medication a few months back.. all I'm doing is drinking water and running to the loo. The meds mean I'm constantly thirsty and my mouth and tongue is like an arid desert. One cup of coffee, pop tastes absolutely vile and I constantly have to go stand outside to cool off to regulate my body temperature because the tablets stop me from sweating. All to stop headaches and they don't even work. I'm drinking in excess of 5 litres a day.
Oh sorry to hear that, 5 ltrs seems such a lot, assume the coffee is decaf? & on the plus side drinking water is supposed to be good for you skin.
Sometimes it takes ages to find a pill that works for you, it took four attempts at finding a high blood pressure medication that agreed with me, keep telling your GP about the side effects and they might be able to suggest an alternative
beccatavender I can't drink decaff. It's only one cup and at the moment it's my one and only luxury. So far the dosage is being increased every 14 days no positive result yet. Gp keeps telling me to drink more water as I think the medication has an impact on the kidneys if you don't. The medication believe it or not is originally for epilepsy but is used for migraine. Only thing is how can you class a constant headache from a concussion (6 months) a migraine?
Hey ho ... persevering..
Hi Zai, I have the odd migraine, thankfully they have only lasted a few hours, I normally have to stay really still in darken room and pray that I can sleep if off as I feel sick and have lightening in front of my eyes.I can't imagine having one lasting that long, I really feel for you.
I have been looking at CBD Coffee, just created a chat topic, as I suffer from a bad back. Not sure if this something you would be interested in ?@zai
beccatavender it's not something I've come across before, I'd certainly give anything ago. The pains also affecting my whole spine and doing odd things to my right side. At this point anything is worth a go.
Nowhere near enough i have started buying big bottles of flavoured water which does help though but still around 2 litres
