Water and Water Containers

Water and Water containers
SoI bought a water container, which states if I drink it I'm a good girl as that's how much I should be drinking in a day 2.2ltres. Well it doesn't say I'm a good girl but I thought I would be. The thing is, 2.2ltres? I feel waterlogged! Seriously is that how much you have to get through? Who created this amount as the ideal amount?
I drink about that, but you can include all your drinks, it's supposed to flush your kidneys, I know if I don't drink that much my urine is much darker, sorry to be so graphic
It's fine, I do know that the lighter your urine the more healthy you are, the more healthy your kidneys are too. The thing is, I really actually feel a bit sick when I drink about two litres a day? Am I the only one to think or feel this? OR is it normal, I am only just beginning.
Spread it out through out the day, I have a Jug on my desk and I just sip, don't notice I've drunk it, except for the extra trips to the loo @CaroleBallard
beccatavender Roflol and THAT is the other issue. I was going to the loo about 3 times an hour! Seriously??? is this how it is till you get used to it? That's an awful lot of convenience trips, my partner thought there was something wrong with me rofolol... So did I though!
CaroleBallard 2.2 litres a day of liquid is just an average - don't be a slave to it !
Obviously coffee /tea etc counts towards it and if you do sweaty exercise that negates from it .
I probably have 3 or 4 mugs of coffee a day and 2-3 pints of beer , probably not healthy either ?
I always drink a full a pint of water as soon as I wake up, then spread the rest throughout the day ... normally aim for a pint by 11am, then 2pm and 6pm. Much later and I would be up to the loo all night
HOW?? I mean just HOW???? how long does it take you to drink the full pint of water in the morning? I would be going for pees all day? Does it not affect you like that? I would love to know how you can drink a pint in one go and just not be sick.
CaroleBallard i guess I am used to it. It is the equivalent of 2 normal glasses of water. I don't 'down it' like a race, but do drink it all before doing anything else.
Even try just having a glass of water when you wake up, before a cup of tea, while you are making breakfast etc.
I grew up as a child with kidney and bladder problems, and was always told to do that, as it 'flushes your system' after a night of sleep.
You don't have to drink that amount in just water. It includes tea, coffee, soft drinks, fruit and even soup. Less needed in winter too.
I don't understand all this going to the loo. Except for one morning coffee I only ever drink water and go 4 maybe 5 times a day. I rarely get up in the night except if I have not had ENOUGH to drink as an empty bladder is an irritable bladder with only a small amount of concentrated urine which feels very much like the urge to go.
Ignore it at night and your body will soon train itself not to get up.
I must admit that my nocturnal visits to the loo are now a part of my life (and I regard as normal !) . If I have 2 or 3 pints of beer of an evening it has to go somewhere . As we age our bladders aren't as forgiving as they used to be !
Golfforall Well I guess you can't expect to hold 2 or 3 pints of beer all night, although only half of what we drink ends up in our bladder. If I drank 2 or 3 pints of water during the evening I would be getting up too!
However, I used to get up two or three times a night for most of my adult life until I learned about my bladder and retrained my night time visits. Back then drinking 2 litres of water was not widely known and it is only the last 10 years or so I have done so, and guess what? No more getting up in night and, more importantly, no more bladder infections.
I also benefited from no more regular headaches, better skin and less aches and pains.
When bladder is empty with just concentrated urine, infections are more likely to occur. If you think of your bladder as a teapot the liquid under the spout cannot get out so it is important to keep it diluted, to keep infections at bay and to stop that tingly feeling (I want to go urge) which is very different to my bladder is full I need to go.
I am getting on for 70 so night time visits are not inevitable.
I am amazed when I go to my daughters pub and the customers are drinking pint after pint. I know it’s not good for them but I couldn’t imagine drinking 5-6 pints of liquid in a short space of time.
