Do Many or Any Wear Face Masks at Airports?
Ask a Question
I'll be flying on March 4th and airports in general are pretty packed with people flying in and out. What's it like for those that have been to one recently?
I just want to say for 4th March happy and safe journey I think you did mention before going next month in question but I forgot take care
I just don't want to go into a crowded area and risk getting some cursed virus that could ruin my life and therefore my plans of going where I want.
Hi, if it's any help we flew back from Bali on 29th Jan, Denpasar Airport had some people wearing masks but they were the minority. However, when we transfered in Qatar we were definitely in the minority not wearing masks. People of all nationalities were wearing them. I would imagine it would be more so now.
I am in Bangkok today. On the Skytrain this morning more than 80% of the Thais were wearing face masks, and about 20% of westerners.
There’s a shortage of masks here with most drugstores having run out of both masks and hand sanitisers weeks ago. The demand for masks is about 5x more than normal. The Private Hospital Association said their medical personnel have been seriously affected by the mask shortage.
Interesting headlines in the Bangkok Post!
I flew to Bangkok from Malaysia. Fewer masks being worn there, but on the plane about 70% of people were wearing a mask.
Interestingly in the Bangkok malls and hotels there‘s free hand sanitiser to use almost everywhere.
On a trip last week the only people wearing masks all the time while at the airport were either Greek or asian. A sweeping statement I know but no one else seemed too worried. There was hand sanitizer outside the bathrooms at the airport and on the plane
I wore my mask during that day, and saw a few others too, but they used some of the most basic masks you could find. It wasn't even an FFP1.
It was like this:
Breathing with a mask (FFP3) got a bit uneasy, but I got used to it and had air coming from the top. Now, whether it was necessary or not, I don't know, but better safe than sorry. Also carried wipes to clean my hands and whatnot.
I do not think face mask helps. Most of the viruses go true them, because they are tiny and get true the structure of textile or plastic, whatever they made of.
