Anyone have any advice or help with where to get wedding things,
One of my bridesmaid will be 11 and proving very difficult to get a dress for!!!
I've got my dress, Cake, and venue will be fine next month!
I don't know why an 11 year is difficult to dress, if she wants the job she'll dress in anything you put her in. They are generally a child version of what older bridesmaids are wearing, but without low tops etc.
CaroleBallard I didnt mean that shes awkward to buy for as shes 11..
I mean trying to get 2 matching bridesmaid dresses. One for an adult and one for a child is proving difficult.
If you are getting the dresses from a bridal shop then you can get a child version of the adult dresses. Otherwise just put her in a white flower girl type dress with a ribbon to match your colour scheme.
Unless it is a case of she doesn't like any of the dresses and is refusing to wear them. In that case tell her that she has 2 choices, she either wears the dress that you pick out or she isn't a bridesmaid, that way it is up to her what she decides.
I only had adult bridesmaids when I got married and I told them that they could have whatever dress they wanted as long as it was within a certain price range and came in lilac/light purple. I then let my chief bridesmaid pick the dresses she liked and felt comfortable in, as my bridesmaids couldn't make the appointments at the same time and my chief bridesmaid was at the dress shop first and then my other bridesmaid had to try on those ones.
MrsCraig she has already said she couldnt Care if she wasnt wearing a dress at all, shes super excited to be asked!
Love the idea of the flower girl dress with colour scheme tho! I just find the dresses are very low cut or open for a child xx
JanineCreaney aww that's lovely she is so excited. Flower girl dress with colour scheme always works well. I know what you mean, the necklines always seem very low cut, which is very strange. Good luck with the wedding and if you need help with anything else, let me know! I planned mine and my mother in laws wedding, I remember how much work was involved xx
Quiz is a great website / shop for bridesmaid dresses, it’s always got sale stuff so you can get full length bridesmaids dresses for around £30, if it’s too long, you could always get them taken up... good luck with the wedding!
Im not sure about dresses and bigger items but home bargains do a good range of little wedding bits - favours, table bits, invites, bridesmaid pjs etc
I used a lot of second hand wedding sites for decorations for my venue. sellmywedding was where I got my centrepieces from. Not sure what you’re looking for but definitely worth looking at
Try and attend local wedding fairs as you’ll get to meet and speak to vendors that way. Some offer show discounts and odd raffle prizes. Also speak to friends as vendors tend to offer discounts from referrals. Read fine prints before signing contract and take out wedding insurance.
Congratulations btw and enjoy the process.
