What's Everyone's Opinion on Dominos Charging Delivery Fees Now ?
Ask a Question
I was surprised to see that Dominos now have a delivery charge. It has always been a treat. And if we are honest, it is a lot of money for pizzas. After all these years to now change their policy, is very disappointing.
I suppose so many restaurants offer takeaway now with company's like just eat charging for delivery, they wonder why they aren't charging. It will put me off ordering from them though.
Midnightflower thank you for responding. It just seems uncalled for, when they have never had to before. Greed rather than need.
I agree, it made me not order last night.
wyal5 I always presumed the delivery charge was accounted for in the price of the pizza, it's not like they're cheap.
Midnightflower thank you for responding.
That was always my thoughts to. It comes down to greed and profits.
MelissaLee1 thank you for responding.
I agree. Yesterday was a birthday treat take away. We usually make our own.
wyal5 I made one once about 30 years ago.I should have another go lol.I'm just ultra lazy.
MelissaLee1 it is a lot easier now, just buying the base already made.
I like beans instead of the tomato sauce . Cheese and beans pizza mmmm
I think its ridiculous. They charge over £20 for a single large pizza. I stopped buying from them a while ago. I stick to £1.50 - 3.00 frozen pizzas now.
I have a Domino's round the corner from where I live, but it's not somewhere I frequent. I find they are overpriced for the quality level. There are a lot of much better pizzerias in my area to choose from
It's my opinion that delivery fees should never be built into the cost, for a few reasons.
- It isn't fair on those who are willing to go the shop. (why should they be paying for a service they're not getting?)
- It isn't fair on those with larger orders (They're paying much more for the same single delivery). Theoretically they should be getting a discount.
We have a domino's once a year, if that. They are delicious but very expensive. I'm not surprised they have started charging. Most places do now.
Dominos is not as tasty as it was many many years ago, it's ok pizza but really not worth the asking price even with offers and I don't mind spending money on decent food, adding extra costs for delivery for me make it even less worth while.
wya15 - What's wrong with buying supermarkets own brand? I always buy Pizza Express from Tesco, money well spent.
I prefer Pizza Hut over domino’s I wouldn’t even buy domino’s now if it’s going to cost more
Like anything ,it's the total cost you decide by . Why I have the odd moan on here about deal posters not adding the P&P to their deals (compulsory on most deal sites ) . Gardening stuff (plants ,seeds etc ) is a prime example . If you have seen the £4.99 -£6.99 P&P mentioned it will be one of my posts - I think I'm the only poster who ever does ?
I think Dominos are my favourite pizza but I'm not such a big fan of pizzas compared to curries or fish and chips. I guess I have a Dominos about once a year or less. Pizzas can be so cheap in supermarkets. You often get a pizza for £1 that you can add your own toppings to and have a very nice pizza for a fraction of the price of a takeaway pizza. I personally don't think the best supermarket pizzas are as nice as Dominos but they aren't far off to be honest and I haven't tried all of their pizzas. The closest I have had was a counter pizza bought from the Asda at Weymouth which was surprisingly nice for a supermarket pizza and I probably could have improved it with a choice of different toppings.
