Whats Your Favourite Disney Film?

Ask a Question

Do you have a favourite Disney film ? Are you a fan of the animated films or the live action films ?

Is the modern Disney films what draws you in or are you a fan of the classics?

For me I'm still a nut for the beauty and the beast and yes I am 45 but hey you can't take the disney out of me no matter what age I am .

What do you think of this?

Beauty and The Beast was my favourite when I was a kid, I also liked Snow White and The Little Mermaid. I haven't really seen many of the modern Disney films or the live action ones, so I guess I'm just a fan of the classics.

angelik same! Beauty and The Beast was my favourite Disney movie as a kid. I like some of the live action movies and not so much others. What is it that has put you off seeing more of the live action movies?

kfe202 I don't think I would enjoy the live action ones. I did love the Disney films as a kid and have fond memories of watching them, but I don't think the live action ones will be as good. Some of them got terrible reviews, and some of them have actors/actresses in that I don't like, so I'm just not motivated to see them.

kfe202 Maybe it is no matter what age you are you can sit down with my family and it will be a good time had by all oh and in 2017 we was lucky enough to go to Orlando and on Main Street and in full view of Cinderella castle I genuinely welled up .

stuartsmith544 Totally agree with you that Disney films are ageless and timeless. So cool to hear about your experience of Orlando and especially your moment with the Cinderella castle. Thank you so much for sharing that.

Probably 'Flight of the Navigator' I've watched that film so many times and also enjoyed 'Wall-E'. There was another film I quite enjoyed 'Big Hero 6' or something like that. Quite liked the classic animated Disney films in the past but when I see them now I get bored but then many of those I've just seen too many times. Also many of them are very sad and a bit depressing. Bambi for example.

Cool. Interesting to hear from someone who likes the more modern Disney films over the older ones. What are your top criteria for what makes an awesome Disney film?

kfe202 For me its repetition, after I've watched a film too many times I get bored of it and it drops down the ratings of my favourite films. Not a great system I'll grant you but reflects how I feel about those films currently. Some of the early Disney films are amazing but I've had my fill of them.

Imnotcheap Sounds like a plan. I might have to adopt the Pringles-and-a-movie-on-a-Sunday idea. Which do you think is the best Disney movie that your boys are old enough to see?

kfe202 Because it's practically perfect, in everyway 😉. I'm not a fan of Disney really but I do love Poppins. Growing up I remember there was usually a guy on our town high street who drew pictures on the pavement. I always wanted to jump into them like they do on Poppins. Great soundtrack too!

tumblespots Ooh, tough question. I love Disney! Of the old animated films, Cinderella is definitely up there. Newer films? Live action Beauty and the Beast, probably. I saw this multiple times in the cinema. Okay, tumblespots, let's flip it over. What's the worst Disney film for you?

kfe202 Cinderella is a great film. 🎶 Whistle while you work 🎶

I recall an older 'real' version of Beauty & The Beast set in the underground with Linda Hamilton? But I also remember Angela Lansbury singing in the original Beauty & The Beast and loved it.

tumblespots Glad to hear that you loved Angela Lansbury's singing in the original Beauty and the Beast. You're so right, her singing is lovely. Thanks so much for tipping me off about the Linda Hamilton version of the film. Gotta check that out! I really appreciate the tip.

It's a fun reworking of the Rapunzel fairy tale. The animation looks good and for me the songs are better than the ones used in Frozen.

Aladdin is hilarious. The Lion King is emotional. Beauty & The Beast has a great soundtrack. Cars is a brilliant story based on a real road I've driven down. I have to agree with BonzoBanana that Flight of The Navigator is pretty special. If I have to pick one though... Cars. I've eaten at the café owned by the real woman Sally Porsche was based on and we still cook our own version of a meal we ate there, two years later 🙂

So many too choose from, if we are talking Princess films then it has to Snow White, then I saw someone mention Flight of the Navigator and that is such an amazing film and the classic Mary Poppins also mentioned. So many great Disney films.

It has to be Snow White as I spent many hours watching it with my daughter when she was younger, so brings back happy memories.

I do love beauty and the beast, Bella is the princess I feel is most like me. I read a lot and I always fall for beasts. I also love tangled, I think it is such a beautiful movie. And the song's in it are lovely. I like the movie the croods a lot but I don't think it's a Disney movie? I may be wrong. My favourite non animated Disney movie would be hocus pocus. I think Bette Middler is brilliant
