Whats Your Weirdest Dream?
Ask a Question
what is your weirdest dream or dream you keep having occur multiple times and wonder the meaning?
Warning this may alarm some people so if anyone has a nervous disposition do not continue to read. I have experienced sleep paralysis. It was extremely frightening. Once it was over I googled my experience to see if what had happened to me was real. And I was surprised to find out it is more common than I realised. Sleep paralysis is when your body going into the deep sleep state while you are still partly awake. When people go into a deep sleep their body goes into a type of paralysis so you won't act out your dreams in real life. I woke up whilst in that paralysis and I could not move. I tried to scream and there was no sound coming out and I felt a weight bearing down on my chest. I could only move my eyes. It took me a minute before I could start to move again. It was very scary. But I was so relieved to hear that it is actually a normal thing to occur. Hopefully I will never experience it again
I can totally relate to how frightening sleep paralysis is. I have had almost identical experience as you described 3-4 times as an adult. I had a period of time during my teens when it was particularly bad. Very scary & unnerving feeling even when you can explain it.
I used to have this as i child but not now, what made it more scary was i used to see the 'dream' at the same time whilst awake and unable to move or shout, and was always the same thing. Never spoke about it, until as an adult, I saw a documentary on channel 4. I used to see a figure stood at the end of the bed. Bizarrely lots of people see the same thing, its been nicked named the shadowman
Glitterandgold It's awful that you have experienced it multiple times. I had a hard time going through it once. It is a very unnerving thing to experience, I couldn't go back to sleep afterwards
neo1 It must have been awful experiencing it as a child. I had the same thing happen to me, I was half in a dream before I woke and I saw one of my family members sitting downstairs, brushing their hair and the time read on the TV three o'clock. I was shouting at them but they couldn't hear me, it was as if I was there but wasn't. What was wierd is the next day I asked them if they were asleep at three that night and they told me they were downstairs brushing their hair by the TV.
I have heard the story about the shadowman. I came across it a couple of weeks later on the horror Channel and it freaked me out because I had experienced sleep paralysis. The movie is called mara
neo1 Moonstone22 I wrote recently in another chat as a teen I had a recurring dream of being pinned down & tickled by hands coming through floor /walls. Sometimes I would wake up during that dream, paralyzed & unable to move or speak & could still feel the tickling. It used to freak me out no end. As an adult iv had a couple of different experiences of being unable to move or speak as Iv woke up & a strong feeling of something in the room. It has always happened when Iv been having a particularly stressful time. Thankfully they are few & far between.
Glitterandgold It's very alarming that these kind of dreams happen to people. I wish there was some kind of cure for sleep paralysis. I have read a guide on things that can make it worse. Like stress and also falling asleep on your back. But there is no cure found yet. Thank you for sharing your experiences with me Glitterandgold neo1 it is nice to know I am not alone with my experience
I feel you, I had similar experiences, quite frighting within the time not realizing what was happening at the time that it happened
I had a dream that I was in a massive posh hotel with red carpets everywhere and for some reason wanted to escape, so found a vent to crawl through... suddenly came to an opening where I could see the night sky and stars above me. I fell upwards! It felt so real I woke up straight away!
sounds like the perfect spooky horror escape game, imagine if that was you in alter universe where that was the reality!
Dreaming most of the days with a childhood friend who didn't treat me very well during our relationship. Strange as I look for the meaning but couldn't find it.
I dreamt the other day that I was dead. Felt myself leaving my body and was walking around as a spirit listening to everyone talk about me
who knows that could have actually happen, your soul taking a little wonder as your super power you have yet to control XD
My step son recently had a dream that my dog could lay eggs.... must be some strange meaning behind that!
that oddly reminds me of the alien films, he could of saw or was thinking about eggs near bedtime for it to appear
