What's the Worst Present That You've Ever Received ( and Then Re-Gifted)

Ask a Question

Come on guys fess up.. we've all been there.. You've built up all this anticipation of receiving a beautifully giftwrapped present.. And then you open it... Then.. This is all quickly followed by the fake 'wow and 'oh thank you so very much and this is just what I needed'... And in your mind you're thinking "not to worry, that'll save me buying for what's his name who we forgot to buy for"... Brutal I know but we all know we've done it... Haven't we.. ☺️😖😬😬

Last year my mother in law gifted my OH Alan Carrs autobiography. Perfectly good present if you enjoy reading celeb biographies or were a fan of Alan's. My OH is neither. 😄

My mother in law gifts the worst presents, I know that sound cruel but it’s true. We tactfully suggested having a small £10 present and maybe ask the family member what they would like. I suggested a plant pot from M&S but she bought several from Poundland. I couldn’t even donate them to a charity shop! Haha.

Some of my family insist on giving me chocolate every year. I’m allergic to dairy though, and they always buy regular chocolate rather than dairy free chocolate. They do it to try to get me to give them the chocolate, but I donate it to a local food bank instead. If they want chocolate they can buy it for themselves instead of gifting it to someone that they know can’t eat it in the hopes of getting it back so they can have it...

Oh dear that’s thoughtless. Good on you to give it to a food bank instead of them having it. Shame we’re not friends and you pass it to me.

My ex bought me a 99p coloring book for toddlers at Christmas when I was a teen. I was so horrified I didn't even try to hide it

My Aunty Brought me an oven glove 3 years on the trot.. (must've been a pack of 3 Lol) I could have keeled over the next year when my Sister included in my Christmas stocking an exact copy of the glove I'd received the year before From Aunty!!! It was only when I said to her oh great, I have a pair now, we creased up laughing n she said.. I know, we both got the same present from her, thanks Aunty!!

The only thing I've ever regifted was alcohol. I got lots from colleagues when I left my last job, I was pregnant at the time, which they didn't know to be fair, plus I don't drink. I gave some to my parents and some to a friend.

I've never gotten awful presents from people.
