When Was the Last Time You Drove Your Car?

Other

Also did it start ok if its been a few months? In the past I can remember my old style mini only taking about 2 weeks before the battery was flat and the car wouldn't start but my current car I have had off the road for about 6 months sorn and started first time plus the car is over 7 years old and I've never replaced the battery. During this pandemic there has been a 2 month break at least with no problems.

A couple of weeks ago after about 10 weeks standing idle. It started fine but as I reversed off my drive I scraped the front passenger wing along the low wall I was parked next to!

I’m having this issue - with two of us having cars and both off work with nowhere to go, my car is just sat waiting to be needed again.. I just bought a new car but haven’t sold the old one yet so they are both sat being neglected and I’m worried it’s going to kill the battery of the new car 🤦🏻‍♀️

Do you go and start it up for a while every so often?

Lynibis i find that’s what ruins the battery, if you’re going to start it, you need to take it for a long drive to give it a full charge...

sarahgreen15 I agree but I turn mine over and leave it on drive while I am weeding and cleaning windows.

This morning. Still drive it now and then to do shopping, go to cricket training and very rarely for work. Since lockdown I've hardly commuted anywhere so fuel costs are at all time low but I still use it often

5 minutes ago - just got back from work .

During the first month of the initial lockdown the roads were empty round here but as soon as the first easing came in all the cars magically seemed to reappear. I suppose with the "vaguer" rules folks thought they could get away with it

About 2 weeks ago when I went to collect the click and collect. Started first time no problem. Husbands car was last used on Saturday night for an unexpected trip to a&e.

I didn’t drive my car for about two months but started my car for 5 mins every week or two just to prevent any issues 🙂

Still got pretty much half a tank of diesel. Only short drive for weekly groceries. Each week the battery got flatter and flatter until an alert came up. Left it running for mins and seems ok again.
