When Do You Start Wrapping Christmas Presents?
Ask a Question
I just started today only done a few not finished buying yet but don't like to have to do too much at once. When do you start
I don't have alot to wrap tbf. We are giving mainly alcohol, gift cards & money this year. I do enjoy wrapping tho so will make an evening or 2 of it in December. I like to wait till our tree & decs are up. Put on a Christmas movie, have some snacks & wine whilst doing it.
Glitterandgold 6 people just want gift cards which I find boring to send but love to receive. Do like the snack and wine idea although prefer a Guinness myself or if really want Christmas mood baileys
Imnotcheap Baileys on offer at the moment! I’m not a fan but I know lots are. Did you see it on latest deals? £8!
Nan2adorables I like the 1l bottle on offer sainsburys but no local sainsburys hopefully others follow suit
When I have finished shopping then I do a few each evening so it’s not a huge last minute task not that I buy loads, just small things really.
I’m terrible at wrapping so i usually take mine into work and some of the kind women there do it for me. It’s definitely an art and one that i have not mastered
Oh gosh I envy you! I haven't bought any gifts yet, let alone wrap them. I don't have any ideas either. Christmas isn't good for my stress levels
G0501 I'm struggling for a few people especially my kids teachers I don't know anything about them as people
G0501 they didn't when I was at school you have to now they all probably get lots they not interested in
Imnotcheap you do not have to buy your kids teachers gifts at Christmas! I say this as a teacher. Get the kids to make a card, believe me, we love a thoughtful card.
Imnotcheap my daughter is a teacher. They do end up with some amount of tat. Mugs ect...gift voucher from a supermarket is nice. Means they can pick. Or just a Christmas card saying thank you. That would be very much appreciated too
chlobo85 I worry about getting confused about which present is for which person myself
I am afraid I usually end up wrapping presents after midnight on Christmas Eve - last year I finished at 2am! If it wasnt for the dog who loves opening his presents Id probably not bother wrapping them at all.
didbygraham my SIL used to do that and ring us late on after running out of paper. I'm not brave enough to let our dog unwrap his own sounds messy
didbygraham my favourite part of Christmas now is watching my dog rip his gifts open...
I'll wrap them as soon as I've finished the person who its for. I've my sons birthday 2 days later so I'll do his birthday presents at the same time
Deansmum that's a horrible birthday bet some people just buy him one present. I thought my OH birthday in January was bad enough
Imnotcheap Most people did give him presents for both. He'll be 30 this year so only really us and my side of the family give presents now. I have a friend who was born on Christmas day. They have half the day Christmas and half Birthday lol
Usually I leave it really late - I often still have a few to wrap on Christmas Eve. I've got quite a few gifts already and was actually thinking of getting started on wrapping this week or next as it's always one of those things that takes much longer than you anticipate x
Karen331 definitely takes longer than expected. Hard to fit bulk wrapping around other things
I'm actually planning on taking a look at what I have and start a bit of wrapping today as have nothing planned. Don't have too much to do but quite enjoy doing it.
HEDGEHOGS I love wrapping it takes my mind off the usual worry about getting everyone present and what to get I always worry I wont pull it all off then do with time to spare
Imnotcheap Well I didn't manage any wrapping yesterday as spent some time in the garden as it was so nice, but weather forecast pretty bad today so will hopefully get some done later on .
Once I've bought the wrapping paper! Always run out from the year before. I normally start end of November and do a bit at a time.
MrsCraig I buy more than necessary in January when wrap all birthday and Christmas presents in it although this year I also got some nice valentine's paper after the 14th
Imnotcheap I don't go out after Christmas for ages so I miss all the cheap wrapping paper.
Imnotcheap we went out last year on the 27th December, I had run out of milk and it was so busy. We didn't stay out long, didn't even bother to look for the deals as it was so crowded I couldn't reach the shelves anyway.
MrsCraig the only time I had bad trouble was the year we got paid Christmas eve and had to buy food that day queue was to middle of supermarket
Imnotcheap I normally finish work about the 22nd so try and have everything I need before then. Last year my husband had to go out on Christmas eve because even though he followed the instructions on the meat, it was raw, so had to go out and get a new one. Got a reduced one for really cheap and he said the shop was really quiet.
MrsCraig I've thought of getting a cheap meat but worried I won't get what I want. This year my Turkey has to fit in air frier on rotisserie
Imnotcheap I've always bought it in advance but we just had to last year. You will easily get a turkey to fit in an airfryer.
MrsCraig I have a big one with rotisary but might measure anyway. Not really expecting problems as always buy a crown
Imnotcheap I know the type you mean, a crown will fit no problem. We used our airfryer last year but not for the turkey.
all presents are bought, all presents are wrapped. I've finished. I start in september and buy and wrap as I go
I started wrapping September I hate wrapping I’m now up to 114 wrapped. I try to do 3/4 a day. Still loads to wrap . My fault for buying too much not being able to give just one present. I’ll learn one day.
