I have been getting telephone calls from a private number. Stupid me answered it this morning when I was half asleep. I know who it was, even though they gave a false name. They asked who I was, and I just hung up.
How have you dealt with calls like this? I don't want to change my number, as I receive a lot of private phone calls from my father's doctor etc...
I've read that there is an app to reveal the phone number. Any thoughts on this please?
Just answer it. If it's someone you dont want to talk to. Hang up. They'll soon get the message & get bored.
Why not leave the call go to answerphone/voicemail?
If it's important, the caller will leave a message.
Next time you could try giving your name but something daft and keep them talking about annoying things
BT do a call blocker telephone, numbers you nominate can get straight through to you, numbers you don't have to give their name and you can decided whether to answer or reject the call , you also have the option to just block unwanted numbers.
