Woman Suing Hertz Rentals over False Accusations of Stealing Her Hire Car

This woman in the US was a platinum member of the Hertz Gold Club loyalty scheme, so she could rent a car and just pick it up without filling out paperwork as she had done numerous times before

This time she was stopped driving away by an employee and accused of the theft of the car

She was arrested three more times between 2019 and 2021 and spent 9 days in prison each time for not attending court over the matter

The third time she was pregnant and had a miscarriage in jail

Now she has a class action along with hundreds of others having similar experiences of being accused of theft , one family being arrested by armed police !!

Apparently Hertz have problems with their system recognising where the cars are at any given time and who has them, causing these interventions

I can see Hertz being sued for millions here , especially with this woman losing her baby because of their negligence and accusations

Thank goodness things like this don't happen in the UK , or do they ??

I think i will 'steer' clear of Hertz over there
