Women want refund from hotel after finding 200 Afghan refugees staying there

Ask a Question

Do you think this is racist or a fair request

Would you pay to stay at this hotel in that situation ?

I would ask too because the lady in question should have been told the hotel a hostel

Good point A , it would have been common courtesy

I've stayed there once on a Groupon, it's a dump. No matter how cheap I would never stay there again.

Even before the pandemic they had hand sanitizer as they had such a high rate of people experiencing tummy bugs. I would ask for a refund

Thats bad news B, i feel sorry for the refugees now

Just think , winston churchill stayed there in the past , but it was voted the worst hotel in the UK for 8 years on the run

The fact that they are Afghan refugees is irrelevant, I would not stay there if it was crowded with non paying 'guests' whose kids were running free making my stay a nightmare.

I agree with Lynibis I think it is irrelevant where the people are from. It is the circumstances that are the issue. Regardless of this the hotel is notoriously bad and the standards of cleanliness and state of disrepair have been a problem for many years. Also since when has Scarborough been part of Teesside?

Why would you even book the grand hotel in the first place? The hotel has been **** for a good few years and reviews show it.

A couple of years ago we stayed in a Travelodge near Heathrow, which was housing Homeless street people at the time , no problem with that. At breakfast thou I have to say some of these people weren't the cleanest or most hygienic and their manners left a lot to be desired , now I'm not judging or stereotyping , but as a family with young children it wasn't the most enjoyable breakfast we'd ever had.

Scarborough is not on Teeside as the mirror has stated. The Grand has been renowned for being a dump. Wouldnt stay there refugees or not. Yuk
