The Word Thank You.

Other

What has happened to the word thank you. When you open a door no one says thank. When you let some one in front of you at the check out they do not say thank you. What's has happened to people of to day.

I honestly don't know, this really gets my goat too. People are becoming so rude and self absorbed. As you say you can wait and hold a door for someone and they just ignore you. I absolutely hate it when someone bumps into me in a supermarket for example and I say sorry just out of being polite and they look at me like it was my fault in the first place and don't say sorry themselves ๐Ÿ˜ก

Where I am it's more the word 'Good morning' and 'Good afternoon' as a way people respond when someone says it to him/her. This is also a method to start a conversation but some can't even be bothered to say it back.

Same goes for 'See ya tomorrow' or 'See you Monday'.

I agree too on the thing about 'Thank you'.

By the way, to be honest, I thought you were going to rant on about reading comments on LD always like "Thank you". ๐Ÿ˜›

I thought it was going to be about the comments on here too ๐Ÿ˜‚ I think we need a thanks button that just counts them so I don't have to read through 100 thankyous before I find a longer comment lol

I think people have become scared to talk to eachother in real life lol, I do worry about future generations. I mean my childhood influences were barney and blue peter presenters ๐Ÿ˜‚ The next generations are peppa pig and spoilt youtubers!! And they're all soooo rude, even to their parents, not good influences at all.

They always rely on iPads and the gadgets their parents give them that doing something as simple as talking to someone in real life will be a tough scenario. But once they're used to it, they can change their ways.

I am lucky where I live in the country. I walk to and from work and everyone I see says good morning or good evening. But I agree that the please and thank you from 75% of the world has disappeared.

These days holding a door for a lady is considered "sexist" and "patriarchal" plus you can't assume the gender of the person cause who knows.. there's like 1,000,000 genders now. ๐Ÿ˜œ

That might seem like a joke but people in US, Canada and even now in UK, Spain and France are starting to think like this.

God forbid I help an old lady cross the street, help her get in the bus or with groceries cause that's sexist, misogynistic, racist and patriarchal. lol
