The Worlds First Electric Passenger Aeroplane Takes Flight

In the News

In the blink of an eye we now have all electric aeroplanes making their debut in the skies

The downside is this one only covers 500 miles at half the speed of a fuel craft

But it can recharge in 3 minutes and with new batteries being manufactured that are more efficient and last longer i expect the distance and speeds will improve as will cars

Who knows, if solar power is an option in the future they could be become self charging being way above the clouds

They're making aviation trips less desirable.

If we had an 'enforced power cut' due to lack of electricity but they still let electric aeroplanes fly then I think I will get cross (can't say the word I really mean because I would be struck off!)

No surprise its slower as it has to use propellers as doesn't ignite fuel like a jet engine. Typically the first of any new technology is pretty rough around the edges but this looks pretty good but I suspect the later products by other companies will be better developed. Pilots are highly paid and this doesn't take many passengers so likely to be more of a premium service. I thought I'd seen a prototype electric aviation engine a while back where it resembled a jet engine but had internal propellers, multi-layer to give better force.

It's energy density of batteries that will make the real difference, the more energy per kg the more practical electric airplanes. At some point it will be possible for personal transport to fly. Much predicted in the past about the future but still not there yet. Flying cars will happen eventually.

Only the wealthy could afford this as part of their vanity project of having more money than senses.
