Worst Adverts Currently on TV

Ask a Question

What would you say are the worst advert/most annoying adverts that are currently on TV?

I mainly watch Netflix so don’t see many adverts, but see some when the sports channels are on.

The ones 2 I hate most are - Voxi, all hail Voxi with the thumbs, and she screams ALL HAIL VOXIII. And the other one is Deliveroo, the woman screeches Wagamama in an irritating voice.

I guess it makes you remember them but they are so annoying!

I see occasional tv adverts mainly around quiz shows like tipping point and the chase. It's a mixture of horribly depressing charity adverts, funeral plans, stair lifts, chairs for people with bad backs or baths which have doors in. Occasionally there might be one watchable advert showing a car. They are pretty awful to say the least. I recently watched a video on yotube showing japanese adverts, they are completely nuts, full of energy and for 95% of the time show attractive young japanese women. Also 95% of the time some sort of animal character or monster. I can see them getting annoying very quickly but still a breath of fresh air.

Yes the ones around those shows do seem to be depressing or annoying lol! Talking of car ones there is an annoying hey car one at the moment where the man is on top of a car park in a car singing directly into the camera, it’s just really random.

Most awful ads for me at the moment... Perf with Surf. All the emotional blackmail funeral insurance ads...making elderly people feel a burden to their families...that is sickening. That weird female advertising something to do with social media ? No idea what she is advertising but ghastly ad. The Flash ones with a horrible, screeching , poor Queen impersonation. Go Compare with two of them!

I think his son must really be his son as they look so alike. But yes, I too find it a bit cringe, especially the one where they were supposedly making their own ad.

I cant bear the current Xmas 2020 Asda ad with the Northern Asian guy and his family. It implies Northerners are dim and I know Asda is a Leeds company but even the bum smacking boom boom ad has got to be better than this. It doesn't even advertise decent Asda goods. Eg. I'd like to think i could get much better gifts for under a tenner than they advertise for Christmas gifts!

The Cinch advert, with Rylan Clark Neal. Why does he drop his 'T's? For effect?

"Now you need a bigger Mo'Er. You need Cinch. Cinch lets you buy a 'Quali'Ee' used car online ..."

It's 'moTor', Rylan. Not Mo'Er. It's 'qualiTy, not 'quali'Ee.

The glottal stop is just fake and horrible.

And then he has the audacity to put a 'T' back into a sentence when he says, "Free home delivery and a 'fourTeen' day money back quaranTee." If he was being true to his complete fakeness, it should be 'four'een'. And 'Guaran'Ee'.

Shouldnnn i' Rylan?

Just. Stop. It.

I really hate any intimate ads on tv as they can be cringeingly embarrassing if you are in the wrong company. We all need these things so either make them more discreet or not at all.

Without doubt any Nationwide advert makes me want to drive tetanus coated rusty metal spikes into my ears and eyes. The latest 'flash back to 1755' with is strangely smug lad can put itself in a beaker and f**k off down the road!

Why Nationwide continue to produce such horrific adverts is beyond me. They surpase Dani Dyers attempt at acting in the 'Perfect with Surf' adverts by some margin, she can meerly be batted over the head with a sweeping brush before its rammed up her bottom as punishment.

Nothing short of descending into the fires of hell is a suitable end for the people involved in the production of these Nationwide adverts.....the director of marketing should be staked to the ground on Wimbledon Common for the pigeons to peck out their eyes and disgruntled TV viewers to throw rotten veg at them, and with any luck the occasional drunk will urinate on them before they are finally recycled by disgruntled Wombles. Perhaps only then the message will get through to the executive board.

Also, if your bladder leak underwear is 'prutttyyy' does that mean you want to show it off? Will this pissy clunged woman be standing at the top of the high street lifting her skirt to all and sundry showing off the 'pretty' soaked drawers she's wearing? I can't help thinking the woman would be less annoying if she had normal 'un-pretty' knickers on and spent her days sneeze drenching my white sofa.

At least thanks to TV we know Oral B make a toothpaste!

I take it that you're not a fan of Nationwide then? Yep, been driving me mad for ages too.

There has been a influx of 'ladies' adverts recently as well. They don't really bother me tbh.

The 'Moist Cream' cream one makes me cringe, but that's because Jenny Eclair is in it. What annoys me about her is that she calls herself a comedian. I thought that you had to be funny to be a comedian 🤔

And even worse was the Tampax one. As Lynibis says, it could be a bit more discreet.

I mute most ads but my pet hates being:

*BRUT & Lynx deo ad's

*Just Eat

*Injury Lawyers

*Banking & building society ad's (they are all as bad as each other)

So mrgoggll it's not just you I think there are loads of us that use the mute button often.

I hate and cringe at some of those ads where there appear to be no boundaries, all in the name of freedom to say what you like and why should we hold back. Well some people still have sensibilities and why is it ok to trample over them in the advancement of not having any taboos.

Maybe some folk prefer not to hear get it up there girls or Jenny Eclair espousing the virtues of certain lubricants. Cringe is not the word and I don't want to be subjected to them when in the company of my granddaughter's boyfriend!
