Dread hey are you a BF1 or Overwatch man?

I'm undecided on BF1 having played the beta. Didn't seem like it had much of a teamwork side to it.

I was really excited for Xbox Scorpio to be released but now with the Nintendo Switch that excitment has switched over to Nintendo's side. Still, I'm very eager to see what Xbox Scorpio will end up be. Microsoft is making it sound like it'll be the most powerful console ever made and the price will be "premium".

The original fat PS3s originally went for like £599.99 or so, so I can see the Xbox Scorpio being somewhere between £499.99 and £599.99. However, despite how powerful it may be what matters is that it has a quality library of games and Xbox One does but it's also games you can play on PC and PlayStation 4.

Nintendo's smart. Nintendo has locked their franchises exclusive to Nintendo consoles/handhelds so if you want to play their games you need to buy their devices. OK yeah, there are emulators but they take their sweet time to become stable.

Btw, Super Mario Run will be on iOS/Android but honestly, it doesn't compare to a traditional Super Mario game as you just tap on the screen rather than control the character as you please and without constantly running (it's not a never-ending runner as it has a finish line).

Isn't Scorpio all for VR?

Tom No. It's being sold as a premium product. Native 4K gaming. It is 8.4 Teraflops which is a beast of a console. Will probably work with Oculus but it is a true upgrade console rather than the barely any upgrade PS4 Pro.

Dread That's what makes Xbox Scorpio seem incredibly amazing for a video game console but when you consider that Nintendo makes underpowered consoles yet the games are awesome, the hardware isn't as important, imo.

It is rumoured to be a free weekend. Worth downloading just in case. Last time when I claimed Fallout 4 for free they gave me $10 credit for the mistake 🙂

EDIT: Just confirmed. Part of the free play days. Game will lock up after Sunday.

EA ditched releasing a Remaster collection and went with BC? Works out fine. PlayStation gamers who didn't play Mass Effect before were left in the dust, though.

Sony seems to be more into financial reasons and not caring for its audience than listening to the gamers like Microsoft's Phil Spencer has been doing.

Tom The Division is a lot better after the 1.4 patch. Ended up getting the Platinum for this on PS4 😄

Bash I don't like sims so best one for me has been Trackmania not liked anything else. Nothing like the superb Forza Horizon 3 on PS4. Burnout Paradise is even free this month on GWG. Sony need a good arcade racer :(

Tom For a second I read "I got Xbox One for £15" which would be ridiculously cheap but not impossible. Amazon has sold refurbished Xbox Ones for £30ish.

The Division is a great game but there's that it's online-only. When a game is restricted to being online-only it means the game won't be playable years after.

I never played MAG (PS3) when it was available and now I can't either. :( NFS 2015 has a single player mode but needs to have an internet connection. :(

Oh well. There's plenty more games.

Rockman I had never thought about this. It's kind of weird when you think about - these empty digital worlds just abandoned...

Tom Sometimes the only way to 'enjoy' these now-dead games is by watching gameplay videos but even then, it doesn't do much good. It reminds me of Goldeneye 64 remake for the Xbox 360.. such a tease to watch that and not be able to play it!

Having played The Division for a few hours, I was very confused why it was so hard. Enemies taking a thousand shots etc. Only after dying a thousand times did I realise it had put me into some group of hardcore pros and we were playing on hard mode, and I only had the basic load out 😂 Still kicked arse though.
