Never tried switch but prefer ps over xbox we have the vr which is cool and controller is smaller fits in hand better
I personally prefer Playstation and my friend who has them all mainly plays on the PlayStation console also! I am looking at getting the PS5.
Personally i think the ps5 looks terrible , but you should still get it if you want it
Stevo1283 yeah I know what you mean, it doesn’t look the best - I much prefer the look of the PS5. Hopefully the console performance will be good though!
I am not really much of a gamer, but whenever I do want to play the odd game or two I am happy with my PC. I have been entering PS5, Switch and Xbox competitions though. 
I'm moving more to PC for gaming, it supports all past games plus you can emulate older consoles. If your PC is powerful enough you can even emulate Switch games and play them at higher resolutions. My cheap laptop has enough power to run wii u games.
For this generation we have two models without optical drives and many games get launched first digitally so at this point you are better off with Steam I think that has no charge for online play and has far better deals on games. I just don't see the point of PS5 and Xbox Series X now as they are going to be restricted and time limited closed platforms. Many platforms now have had support dropped; Original Xbox, PS2, wii, DS, 3DS etc and soon PS3, Xbox 360, wii u etc will be added to those. Your digital purchases are no more where as my Steam games will be supported into the future and even if they weren't its an open platform so I'm sure I could find a way of running those games.
Also on PC you can run your favourite old games with mods like new levels or graphics updates. A lot of the appeal of the new consoles is playing your old games at higher resolution or higher frame rates which is something PC owners have done for a long time.
You can also configure a PC in a games console size case and use a games controller like an xbox gamepad. It can be a small device under your TV just like a Playstation or Xbox and this generation those consoles are huge anyway.
I have both Xbox one and PS5 and both a similar just one is downstairs and one is upstairs. The one I play on most has to Xbox purely because its on the bigger tv lol. The switch doesn't have the type of games I play ac series and far cry series.
i prefer the PS my daughter has the xbox and i just find it difficult to join in with her. i have no idea about the switch my lot have never asked for one. they had a ds and didnt enjoy it much
I had Xbox then moved to PlayStation because more friends were there. In terms of reliability, software etc., I preferred Xbox and had fewer problems. But I only really enjoy multiplayer games with friends so had to stick with PlayStation!
