Cant see how this is in anyway a responsible email to send out . Whilst I am way past irresponsible borrowing , to me it just encourages the buy now pay later ? society .
I think to most responsible folks the first payday , especially after Xmas is the time to pay down those credit card bills that are costing you 30% per annum ?
Or do folks still think they will win the National Lottery next week ?
I think all lenders are fairly irresponsible. I have got myself into some financial difficulty recently and currently have two small loans with one company, and they send me a text or email every other day to let me know I can still apply for a third loan with them for upto £1500!! How is that even allowed!
I’d have to start playing the lottery to win it sadly. Just come out of my financial difficulties but even whilst being with step change the amount of payday emails and credit card deals I got offered was scary.
I think a lot of this kind of email needs more regulations
That's terrible...dangling that carrot..regulations needed.
It's been in the news about gambling...same thing ....disgraceful....taking advantage of people in need.

Many buy on Credit cards these days - Until your credit limit is reached ! The email insinuates that buying is "fun" - I suspect that is the view of many until they realise the full cost of buying via a credit card ?
Golfforall but it doesn't mention buying on credit then? If not, I don't see how that's irresponsible.
There are so many companies that send out emails on "payday" (never around the time I get paid, oddly). It's up to people to be responsible (that's not to say companies should encourage being irresponsible, but I'm not sure they are in this case).
Why go on a spending spree just because you've been paid anyway? If I won £1,000 I'd not immediately spend it - same with money I earn. It sits there and gets used when needed.
And if you're buying on credit, why wait until payday anyway? You're spending money you don't necessarily have with credit, so no need to wait.
I will win the lottery but i don't borrow. We don't have a lot of spare cash but we save for what we need. I get that buy now pay later can help people in emergency situations but these ads are too tempting. You hear stories of how schemes like this have come back to bite people's backsides.
Love your optimism about winning the lottery. Wish I could believe that! My sensible head tells me I’m not going to win ever.
