Iceland Bonus Card: How Does The Loyalty Scheme Work?

Iceland Bonus Card gives you £1 for every £20 you save on it. Unlike other supermarket reward schemes, Iceland Bonus Card is a savings card. You top it up with cash, and for every £20 Iceland adds an extra £1. When you are in Iceland or The Food Warehouse, or shopping online at Iceland.co.uk, you use your savings on Iceland Bonus Card as a method of payment.

You can get Iceland Bonus Card on your phone as an app

There are three methods to get the Iceland Bonus Card:

  1. Join Bonus Card online
  2. Get the Bonus Card app (iOS App Store, Google Play Store)
  3. Get a physical card in-store

The easiest method is to sign up online or get the Iceland Bonus Card app. Even if you get a physical card in-store, you will still need to register it online, which is much the same process.

  • If you already have an Iceland account, use the same login details.
  • If you are a new Iceland customer, you will need to give your name, address, email, and phone number.

This is optional, but if you picked up a physical Bonus Card you can scan the number with the Bonus Card app to sync it to your account. This means you can use the app, or the physical card when in-store.

What Are The Benefits of Iceland Bonus Card?

Iceland Bonus Card, £1 Back For Every £20 Saved
  • £1 back for every £20 you save
  • Exclusive bonus card prices
  • Free home delivery in-store and online when you spend £25
  • Win exclusive prizes

The main benefit of Iceland Bonus Card is that the supermarket gives you £1 for every £20 you save. This equals 5% cashback, which is a similar of reward to the Co-Op Membership (however, Co-Op Membership does not require you to save in advance).

If you shop at Iceland regularly, it is a good way to save 5% every time you shop.

The Iceland Bonus Card is a good way to fight back against food inflation. You're essentially getting a 5% reduction in your food costs, as Iceland gives you £1 for every £20 you save.

This app lets you put all your loyalty cards into one place. This makes it easier than having to navigate many apps.

How Does Iceland Bonus Card Compare to Others?

Iceland Bonus Card gives pounds, not points, which makes it different from Tesco Clubcard and Sainsbury's Nectar. You also need to save money onto the card to get the pounds, which makes it different to ASDA Rewards and Co-Op Membership.

The reward of £1 for every £20 of saving equals cashback equivalent of 5%. This makes it similar to Co-Op Membership. However, in our opinion Co-Op Membership is better as you receive the cashback as you spend - you do not need to save on the card first.

Iceland Bonus Card is most similar to the Christmas savings cards some supermarkets offer. For example, Sainbury's Christmas Club has given 5% bonus on what you save, Tesco Christmas Saver gave 6%, ASDA Christmas Savings Card gave 5.3%, and Co-Op Saving Stamp gave 4%.

  • Note, Iceland also does it's own Iceland Bonus Card Christmas Boost and gives double boost: For every £20 you add you get £2 (making it 10% cashback).

If you shop at Iceland regularly, saving onto the Iceland Bonus Card is a good way to save money. Sign up to Iceland Bonus Card here.
