  • Aldi's new Munch! Chicken Strips & Chips kits are 62% cheaper than KFC, delighting budget-conscious foodies.
  • Social media is buzzing over the kits, which include a KFC-inspired gravy.
  • Priced at £3.99, these kits are a hit for quick, delicious meals, with a rave review from a satisfied shopper.

In a world where fast food is a guilty pleasure for many, Aldi has introduced a game-changer for at-home dining: the KFC-inspired Munch! Chicken Strips & Chips kits. Priced at an astonishing £3.99, these kits promise a taste adventure comparable to the high street giant but at a 62% saving, making it a win-win for your palate and wallet.

Launched last month, the lineup includes the Munch! Southern Style Chicken & Chips and Munch! Salt & Chilli Pepper Chicken and Chips boxes. The Southern Style box, a direct nod to KFC's Boneless Banquet, offers chicken tenders, poppers, crispy fries, and that much-loved southern fried style gravy for £6.50 less than its fast-food counterpart.

Not stopping there, Aldi also released the Munch! Salt & Chilli Pepper Chicken & Chips kit. It combines golden fries with light, crispy coated chicken, diced peppers, onions, and the show-stopping salt & chilli pepper seasoning. And for the mac and cheese enthusiasts, Aldi's Inspired Cuisine Mac and Cheese in Classic, Truffle, and BBQ Pulled Pork flavours at just £1.79 for a 300g serving, adds even more variety to the mix.

Kate Kulniece at The Sun captured the social media frenzy around these culinary delights, noting their immediate popularity. Shoppers have not hesitated to express their approval, highlighting the quality and affordability of Aldi's offerings.

One customer, Bergen Ayla Kolukisa, shared her enthusiasm in the Facebook Group, praising the Munch! Southern Style Chicken & Chips for its authenticity and value. "The gravy is so close to KFC's as well! None of it tastes fake or cheap either! Tastes nearly the same!” she exclaimed. Her post, accompanied by a photo of her £3.99 meal, sparked widespread interest and approval among group members, echoing sentiments of surprise and satisfaction at the quality and taste.

Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, commented, "Aldi's introduction of the Munch! Chicken Strips & Chips kits is a testament to their commitment to offering high-quality, affordable alternatives to popular fast food. It's impressive how they've managed to capture the essence of beloved dishes, making gourmet-like dining accessible to all. This innovation not only caters to the taste buds of their customers but also to their wallets, proving once again that great taste doesn't have to come at a high price."

I was in Aldi the other day and saw this product and most people casually passed it with no interest and no one picked it up. Seemed expensive to me for the weight and what you got. I don't remember any people going wild around it or anyone acting in a frenzy. I did see someone put about 8 pizza's in their trolley a few metres away they were certainly enthusiastic about those but he didn't attack me or do anything associated with the phrase 'go wild'. I have seen the KFC original reviewed on youtube and it was quite negative even for the original product let alone a Aldi knock off, of it.

What I want to see is Chicken breasts coated in a decent copy of KFC coatings. The knock off coating never seems as nice to me.
