Pepsi Announces They're Scrapping Festive Drink Flavour

In a move that has left shoppers baffled and dismayed, Pepsi has decided to discontinue its popular Ginger Christmas flavor. This festive favorite, launched six years ago in the UK, has been a seasonal highlight for many, featuring a unique blend of natural ginger flavoring. The beverage was available in various sizes, from 330ml cans to 2 litre PET bottles, catering to all preferences.

However, this Christmas, fans will have to find an alternative, as Pepsi confirmed on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the Ginger flavor has been discontinued. The announcement has led to an outpouring of disappointment on social media, with many customers expressing their surprise and sadness at not finding the drink in local stores.

While Christmas enthusiasts are lamenting the loss, Pepsi is steering customers towards its new Mango-flavored drink. Introduced as a summer flavor, Pepsi MAX Mango has been described as the brand's "best ever" new addition. Initially exclusive to Tesco, it's now available in supermarkets nationwide.

Pepsi's range, featuring over eight flavors including diet, caffeine-free, and original variants, continues to evolve. The new Mango flavor joins the likes of Raspberry, Cherry, and Lime in Pepsi's fruity lineup. Last Christmas, Pepsi celebrated the football World Cup with a limited edition Nutmeg flavor, which garnered attention for its innovative theme.

This decision by Pepsi comes alongside news that Costa Coffee has also axed one of its popular drinks, sparking similar reactions from its customer base. Salma Ouaguira at Latest Business, Retail & Property reported these developments, highlighting the impact on loyal customers of these brands.

Quote from Tom Church:

"Change is a constant in the beverage industry, and while it's always sad to see a favorite go, it opens doors to new flavors and experiences. Pepsi's shift towards new varieties reflects the evolving tastes of consumers and the dynamic nature of the market."

Never even saw it, I would certainly have tried it. Can't have been that popular if it's been discontinued.

The ginger flavour wasn’t up to much anyway. The Mango flavour though is VILE! I got a free bottle at Cineworld when they were doing a promo. I couldn’t stomach more than a couple of sips. Truly, truly awful, and doesn’t taste anything like Mango.

ALL of the flavoured Pepsi’s are pretty awful. The Ginger was about the best of them. In fact neither Regular Pepsi nor Pepsi Max are that great. The famous ‘taste test’ is flawed anyway, pitting Pepsi Max against full sugar Coke. I suspect that they did Pepsi Max against Coke Zero and LOST! 😂And Full sugar Coke wins hands down against Full Sugar Pepsi.
