Primark Expands Self-Service Checkouts: Time-Saving Shopping in 9 Locations!

Image

Attention, savvy shoppers! Primark's rolling out more self-service checkouts – and it's about time. We all know the agony of standing in long queues, waiting to snag our bargains. Now, things are moving in the right direction for the fast fashion giant.

After testing the waters in Sheffield, Northampton, West Bromwich, and Kingston, Primark’s now unveiled the self-service tills in Milton Keynes and Basingstoke. Part of a wider £140m investment, they're still in the trial stage, but I'm hopeful this'll become the norm across the estate.

But that's not all! Those with little ones will be pleased to know that Primark’s expanded its click and collect service to 32 more stores across central London. You can browse online for kids' toys, clothing, and nursery items, and pick them up in-store. And the best part? It's free to use and you only need to spend £10 to access it. Sadly, you still can't order products for home delivery online – something that's been a hot topic among my followers.

Here's the full list of stores with self-service checkouts:

  • Sheffield The Moor
  • Coventry
  • Slough
  • Kingston
  • Edinburgh
  • West Bromwich
  • Northampton
  • Basingstoke
  • Milton Keynes Shopping Park

Time is money, and these new checkouts could be a real boon for shoppers short on time or making smaller purchases. It's a step forward, though we still have a way to go to fully modernise the Primark shopping experience.

Tom Church, Co-Founder of shopping community LatestDeals.co.uk, chimed in, saying, "Primark's introduction of self-service checkouts to more stores is a clear indication of the retailer's commitment to enhancing the in-store experience. It's all about reducing queue times and making shopping more efficient for customers, while still in the trial phase. The future of these checkouts and where they'll be next is yet to be determined."
