I've been using Go Outdoors for almost a year now; mainly for fishing accessories and equipment.
If you have their discount card - it's great, the prices are almost always cheaper than elsewhere - especially when purchasing bait (such as pellets) as, elsewhere, they are quite expensive in comparison.
Despite this, I have had more bad encounters with Go Outdoors as opposed to good.
I won't list them all, however one recent experience would be:
I had accidentally placed an order online with the incorrect item(s) in my basket. I immediately got in touch with Go Outdoors via Facebook. They had said that due to the parcel being processed through the warehouse they would have to wait until the parcel is out for delivery in order to request a "return to sender" to the delivery company.
A few days later, the delivery arrived despite this.
I further contacted Go Outdoors and they provided me with a Collect+ label, however I mentioned that currently, I cannot leave the house. They arranged a Hermes collection.
Little did I know that Hermes required their own label to be scanned in order for the parcel to be collected. I was not provided with a label and was not able to send off my unwanted parcel.
I further contacted Go Outdoors and they initially expected me to pay £10 for a Hermes collection as they can only provide a collection if the products are "faulty".
After complaining and explaining the situation further, they had provided me with a DPD collection.
A lot of effort for when I'm sure they could have cancelled the order whilst it was still at the warehouse.
If the customer service provided not only online, but instore, was improved then this review would also improve. Their products and prices are great, it is a shame not all of the customer service representatives also are.
I will continue to use their services - although I will be a lot more cautious with my online orders and ensure that the products I have purchased are correct, as it is NOT simple to return items!
