REVIEWS
  • We switched to Ocado when our son was born and getting out the house became more challenging. They are not perfect but their customer service is and any niggles, small or large are sorted out promptly and courteously. You can get free delivery from online voucher codes and over the past five years we've only had a few late deliveries but on the whole received a call warning us. Their own label products are on the whole great and there is a brilliant range of just about everything. I have genuinely tried every supermarket delivery service and they are best. If you shop carefully they are not more expensive. The half price and BOGOF items number in the thousands each week, so easy to make savings. The Smart Pass gives you unlimited deliveries (once a day) is extra discounts and offers. I'm a Star Reviewer and get sent lots of exciting things to try. Get a friend to recommend you or look for one of their great opening offers. You can usually snag a Smart Pass free for the first year. Mummy1
  • I have used Ocado once so far as I had an online discount code for a large amount of money off my first delivery. I got the discount no problem online and the delivery was on time. It was a more expensive shop and I could have got way more for my money from other supermarkets so I'm just not sure it's worth the extra cost unless you are a first time customer with a discount code. The delivery driver was just as friendly as any other driver and the food was fresh and had good use by dates on them. Freebiesarefun
  • I am a massive fan of Ocado. I first tried them because they had an amazing deal on first three online shops. I understand that the offer is now only on first shop. Once signed up they will deposit coupons into your account dashboard. These can be amazing. I had one shop with 6 coupons that were more than the value of product. I haven't shopped with them again for a few months. In that time they e mailed 20% discount codes a couple of times. Only downside was they had short validity lives. Which brings me to another problem I encountered. The use by dates on some products were on day of delivery or a day after. They did refund the cost but its the inconvenience. It is however a small matter. Overall I would recommend them. You can also get fantastic savings from online voucher codes for Ocado on sites like Latest Deals. Mrmac
  • I first tried Ocado due to a fantastic offer groupon had giving £20 off a £60 spend I think it was. I bought the Groupon voucher and used it on there. No problems putting the actual order or using online voucher codes through. However, my order arrived with a full crate missing. Customer services didn’t really apologise they just arranged for another day for it to be delivered. Second-order and guess what, the same problem! Absolute joke was so I put a complaint in and it didn’t help. I rang back to complain and got a much more caring person on the other end of the phone who understood that as a new customer it was very off-putting. Eventually, it was resolved and they added a box of chocolates to my next order. But needless to say, I’ve never ordered from there again due to the hassle it caused both times having to ring Ocado and wait for missing items to be delivered. I went straight back to doing my own shopping in-store myself as that was more relaxing than ordering online at your door! Maybe I’ll try another company in future but at the moment so put off by my experiences with Ocado. I get this doesn’t happen to everyone but as a new customer 2 times in a row, I didn’t want a third order obviously. AniMoh

Recently ordered online with Ocado and have to say from shopping on the webpage to my delivery all went smoothly. Took advantage of their reduced items and multiple buys, saving money on my groceries. Also used a discount voucher getting £20 off too when I ordered £60 worth of goods. Will be using them again.

I began to use Ocado during lockdown and have continued ever since. I particularly love that I am able to get M&S food delivered, although Ocado products have been very good. Delivery is extremely prompt and slots for a week where there's no 'special date' such as a Bank Holiday are usually available. Replacement items have been good. The only downside has been products 'out of stock', a nuisance when I have already had a meal plan for the week. I have to add that every delivery person has been excellent!

I’ve ordered from them a couple of times but only when they have offers and money off like save £20 on your first shop over £60. They can be a bit pricey so it’s just about being aware and grabbing a good deal when you can. That being said, I like that they have unique options of food that you can’t get at your local Asda or Tesco. They have a huge range of options for coleslaw, deli meats, crackers and so much more - if you are looking to impress and have a posh picnic then this is the place to shop, they do platters as well

Excellent range of products and every now and then they reward you with a voucher to say thank you. I just got a 20.00 off 80.00 spend. Not often existing customers get any money off. Felt so well supported by the, through lockdown. The drivers also go out of there way to help you. Excellent t offers on bringing prices down.

Very polite drivers. Punctual deliveries. Prices are not too bad, very competitive prices and excellent offers. Customer service experience has always been positive and helpful . Easy to speak to someone on the phone and never have to wait too long to get through. Helpful bag recycling initiative and get 10p refund per Ocado bag returned

Items are usually in stock and everyday groceries are competitively priced. Artisan products are quite expensive, but no more so than in the few other retailers that stock them. Fresh food such as fruit and vegetables are never good, though. As for delivery, the drivers are always polite, friendly and punctual, plus Ocado gives customers 5p for every bag they return. All in all, I’d say it’s a midrange to premium supermarket that provides a pleasant shopping experience.

Great online shop. Substitution is normally good. Plus the groceries are good in date items. I’ve tried other stores but especially Asda send nearly out of date stuff so a lot ends up in the bin, and some very odd substitutes. So even though I pay more, I’m saving money as it’s all got a long life shelve.

Ordered the rest of my daughters uniform. Got a text an hour before delivery to say it wouldn't be coming due to warehouse issues. The reason it has 2 stars is because I've had food deliveries from there before and they've been OK but expensive. Don't really trust them now. Such a shame.

Lovely experience have shopped with them for years, the quality is always top notch and if there has ever been a problem they also refund. They provide substitution in advance but very rarely have I said no. If you send the bags back they recycle and you get the money back. They have never been late in fact they tend to be early but call in advance to check it is convenient. They are more expensive than most but the quality is worth it plus all the fresh food has a good shelf life

I've recently changed to Ocado after they offered me free grocery deliveries, and I'm thrilled with how it's worked out. I expected it to be expensive, but the many special offers keep the costs low. Delivery slots are plentiful, only a few days to wait, everything comes in returnable plastic bags so no loading my own bags from trays on the doorstep, and then I learn that I can also buy woodburner fuel along with my potatoes. Absolutely brilliant, almost everything I want, including M&S food, straight to my door. Customer service brilliant, no quibbling about returns, friendly and helpful drivers. Here they have one new, but already loyal, customer.

Shopped with Ocado for over a year. They are reliable, rarely arriving past the slot time, and if there is s a problem keep you well informed. Usually notified if they are out of stock before delivery which cuts down on substitutions. Prices are on the higher side but there are always goods on offer at a discount. Regularly receive a free gift, whether it is a magazine or bar of chocolate. It has been a real bonus since trading with Marks and Spencer’s especially during these COVID restrictions and not being able to get to the shops. Faulty good or missing items have always been credited without any fuss. Delivery drivers arrive with a mask and every one has a happy disposition. They are very helpful and polite.

Customer service is excellent and wide range of products from marks and Spencer at the moment. Always have great offers like buy one add one free. The only downside is that the delivery slots especially during the holiday period seem to be limited and the minimum order quantity has been increased slightly alongside the costs of delivery.

I ordered via Ocado few times for my workplace. I received always good product and in good condition. The delivery was perfect and in time and never had delay. The costs are reasonable as many other competitors, but you can find many times good prices for some items. The website is easy to use and makes also to order really simple.

Love shopping here. Has a good selection of offers. I would never go back to standing in a cue and wasting hours of my life doing my own shopping. If anything is missing or broken a refund straight away. I love using the app and have been shopping with Ocado for years.

I have absolutely given up trying to order for delivery from Ocado. It's not that they don't deliver in my area as I've seen them delivering in my close. It's not that I'm a bad customer, several other supermarkets have delivered to me. Whatever their problem is I have yet to be able to order from them a receive an order and trust me when I say I have tried a few times each year for the last 5 years.

The best online supermarket. They have the wildest variety of food and other items. When u first order, they give you free delivery pass which is good for months and also you can search for and online discount code of maximum £30 off. They are working with Waitrose and soon they will change and have M&S products, which I am not happy about much. I prefer Waitrose. They have nice fruits and vegetables. The customer service is all right. I would not say it is the best. Depends on the day. But they actually do the best service. Their delivery is always on time. They inform you from all the changes and if they late apologize. Also they give u a gift first time, which is a kitchen towel or a magazine They send u offers in e-mail. Special offers to you which is like a coupon and you can fill your freezer cheaper.

Pioneers in the home food delivery service, Ocado were the first to offer this to the masses. On the whole, it is fantastic! I have been using it for many years. I rarely get substitutions... The website is easy to navigate and quick to place your food order. Plus, if you buy a Smart Pass (last year we paid £36 for 6 months), you get priority weekly deliveries. Although many say that Ocado is super expensive, I have not found that to be the case. All prices are matched with Tesco, and if it is more expensive you will receive a voucher every month and you can add this on to your shopping order to get the discount. Unfortunately during the Pandemic, Priority Customers were not prioritised and certainly I had two orders that were canceled without notice. There was a lot of bad PR, but the other supermarkets were also struggling with panic buying and restocking. Hence, I knocked off a star for this alone. Their Customer Services, at the time, were shocking. Usually, they are fantastic! The delivery times can be chosen in hourly slots. Occasionally the drivers have arrived slightly early but always wait until their time to deliver. All the food is delivered in color-coded, recyclable bags: fridge, freezer, cupboard. The bags can be returned to your driver and you will receive the money-back for the bags. If you find that a product is missing or is incorrect, the Customer Service team will usually refund the payment to you without any quibbling. I would highly recommend Ocado to you.

I have been a fairly regular customer of Ocado for a while, and applied to get a Vulnerable customer delivery slot as we are Shielding. In spite of being on the Govt list, and having had letters and emails to confirm that, Ocado refused a slot on the basis that I wasn’t on their list. I even emailed them the name of my Cancer Unit to prove my chemotherapy claim, but no response. Won’t be using them ever again
