REVIEWS- I like Waitrose for the odd top up shop but would never go there for a full food shop because quite frankly it's extortionate. I think they often do good reductions on meat and vegetables and fridge food, and they're a good place to go if you're after nicer alcohol or chocolate boxes to gift people etc. But otherwise I wouldn't use it. I commend them on their free coffees and their new goals to reduce throw away cup usage. I think product quality is good but I envy anyone who can afford to do their weekly/monthly shop in Waitrose. However, you can still save money from discount codes you can find online. Mashleigh
- I have only been to Waitrose a few times if it's around where I am visiting. There isn't one anywhere near me so I don't do my regular shopping there. When they first started i found their prices to be really expensive but since then they do have cheaper options and you can get good bargain deals from online voucher codes. I have to say I've seen their offer for the coffee scheme to stop wastage of takeout coffee cups. helping with recycling and environmental issues will always make a company look good and gain respect and loyalty which I admire and have respect for them doing that. If there was a store near me I'd happily have a look at their prices and quality to do a shop. I always see others on Facebook with great yellow sticker reductions from them so that's appealing. zararoberts86
- I don't use Waitrose for my main shop as their prices aren't as competitive as other supermarkets but it is a supermarket I like to shop in for bits and pieces if I am looking for something different or if it's for a birthday meal etc as they do stock some lovely fresh food that's a little bit different from the normal. It is always laid out great and I never have a problem trying to find what I am and looking for and their staff are always very polite and happy to help should you need it. I have seen others get great deals on yellow stickers and from online voucher codes on a regular basis too. SRFMLY
- I only go to Waitrose for the yellow sticker reductions or if I find a good discount code from sites like Latest Deals and if there are free things to collect on the Shopmium or Checkoutsmart apps. The reason is that it is so expensive even for own brand products. The staff are really nice and always helpful and friendly but I'm afraid this doesn't help with the prices. The click and collect service for John Lewis is really handy. They are also getting people to bring their own coffee cup which is a great move as there must have been so much waste from the amount of coffee cups they gave out. Freebiesarefun
- I do love Waitrose, but it doesn't fit too well on a student budget. Having said that, I've noticed that prices have become more competitive and aren't too far off those of my local convenience stores. It's also good to find money saving voucher codes online and some of the items on the Shopmium app and they're one of the best places if I'm looking for specific ingredients (e.g. one of the only places i seem to be able to find buttermilk!). Their quality is great, and I've had some good bargains on homewares most especially with their Waitrose 20 off first shop promo. Equally the stores are nicely set out and the staff helpful - plus its always a bonus to have a free tea! em221
- I love Waitrose but is does tend to be pricier that most supermarkets. You can do a weekly food shop there if you're careful and buy their own branded cheaper range. But hey, the point of doing an occasional shop there is to have a bit of a splurge and buy some of the more out of the ordinary food items especially for special occasions. The fresh fruit & veg is always of a very good quality and keeps very well for several days (if it lasts that long in our house). There are always numerous unusual varieties of really tasty food items that you won't see anywhere else. Their online flower website offers beautiful floral arrangements to suit all budgets to celebrate or commemorate any occasion plus you can even get free delivery from online voucher codes. I've always found the flowers to be very fresh and last for well over a week. The shops are always very clean and the shelves fully stocked. The staff are always polite and helpful. jacquis
- Waitrose prices are way higher than the competition and I have no idea how they do it. Even their reduced to clear section is more expensive than other stores full price. While they do sell some high quality items, and some things you can't get elsewhere, there isn't a lot too it. In fact, they seem to lack a lot of items that other stores sell and have very small sections of most things. They do seem to excel in the wine and alcohol sections though. They also have a points card, but I find I shop there so infrequently that it's not worth the time. They also sell goods in places like Boots fresh food section and online via Ocado. I really only drop in there for convenience or something specific I know they have that others don't (e.g. wine gifts). Make sure to search for discount codes online if you want to save money on some of the items you want. Angemala

Waitrose Reviews

Great service - driver will bring bags into my kitchen. Lots of available slots for delivery early in the morning. Great products albeit sometimes more expensive than Tesco, but the quality is exceptional. Any issues and they accept returns and credit my account, no question. Customer service is excellent - they really seem to value their customers.

Waitrose was one of my standard stores.
Not a weekly but certainly a bi monthly shop. I usually shop on-line. I'm way too busy to go in-store these days.
Since parting company with Ocado I'm afraid standards have plummeted.
The amount of short date items is now at an unacceptable amount. For example - fresh prawns expired a day after delivery !
When my partner opened them they were off. Badly off. The delivery drivers don't seem to care about the contents of the delivery. They generally can't wait to get away. In many ways they are eclipsed by stores like Morrisons. Waitrose is a prime brand. I pay more. I expect more.
Stores like Morrisons, generally seen as a discount retailer shouldn't be performing better than Waitrose.
They seem to be losing their way.
Shopping with M&S on the other hand goes from strength to strength.

food good.Delivery always on time. Drivers always nice. If need refund always receive credit with no questions asked. I know some of there prices are a little hire but they do have offers. I have been having a delivery for over 2 years and had no problems will carry on doing

We have a weekly shop from Waitrose and are more than happy with it. Some items are more expensive than in Lidl or Aldi or Tesco etc but it’s all comparable and you can get three meat items for 10.00 which is similar to Tesco I believe.
The staff are all helpful polite and professional in their service and the substitution policy is one of the best I have come across.
The thing about Waitrose is you know you get decent product even if the price is sometimes just a smidgen over the average.
In lots of areas you can get very reasonable product prices for eg toilet cleaner 2 for a 1.00 and they always have a good range of offers on. Actimel yoghurts are currently 8yoghurt drinks on 2 for 4.00 again this isn’t a bad price for a named product in Waitrose.
Overall I’d say if you steer off the obviously over priced stuff you can get a shop in for a readonable price each week depending on your budget that is.
The other plus point is you only need to spend 40.00 for a delivery. I think Iceland is similar so again in a like for like it’s not bad.
I’d recommend trying Waitrose for the next level in customer service and the range of unusual food stuffs you aren’t likely to find in some other supermarkets. My favourite at the moment is garners pickled gherkins infused in white wine vinegar and gin.
They are the best I’ve tasted! When I have had to complain in the past it was down to too many substitutions being sent which was beyond the stores control as there was a shortage of product but the staff in customer services noted and followed up my complaint with the store that sent my delivery and in fairness I have had no problems since.
They are a solid 9 out of 10 in my opinion and were I on an endless budget for my food shop would score a 10 but some things for my pocket are just a tad overpriced !

Waitrose is an amazing shop you can get most things you need under one roof, the staff are amazing in every one I’ve been too, you also get free daily papers when you shop there in store! The quality is so much better than other supermarkets and you can always get a great bargain or two or three, if you can’t see stuff on the shelf ask any staff they will always bend over backwards to help you! Prices are quite good for the quality, and they send you out vouchers to use if you sign up to there waitrose card scheme which you also got a free hot drink daily, I can’t fault waitrose at all

I'm vegan and I find waitrose has such a good range of this food lobe the vegan chocolate they sell and the rude health coconut milk is soooooo tasty I find the staff always really helpful there and generally just a nice place to do a food shop and great fresh fruit

This is a great place to shop. Great quality goods & they always have fantastic deals. Great deals on their fantastic choice of wines. The staff are the best I have seen in any supermarket.
Customer service is absolutely fantic.
They also provide vouchers & also money offers in store.Great choice to suot all food types.

This grocery store is the best of all food supermarkets. The quality of food is great and the customer service and the way they treat the customer is amazing. The prices aren’t always the cheapest ( although they do a budget range too) but you truly get what you pay for.

Love the quality and choice of exotic and different food you get at Waitrose it may be a little more expensive but a treat every so often is not going to break the bank also they have some basic range.
The customer services from the older staff they employ is also fantastic, keep up the good work.

The quality and range of goods are exceptional. Like, where else can you get ostrich eggs or goose eggs? At least supermarket-wise. Price-wise it's on a higher end, but lots of items are price matched to other supermarkets. I shop at Waitrose to treat myself and my family, when I can.

The quality of the groceries is amazing! It ranges from affordable to high prices and you can pick depending on the occasion. Very kind staff and the queuing system is very good for the situations going on right now so that we can stay safe. They are very understanding with returns and I have never experienced bad customer service

Waitrose has been absolutely fantastic these past weeks like the majority of supermarkets. How we would have survived without them opening is unthinkable. The staff have been risking their lives so we can carry on ours. The staff in Waitrose have been so friendly at a distance even though I imagine they have had really bad days. These are people that need pay rises and bonuses. Waitrose should feel ashamed at the poor bonus they gave out just before lockdown.

Don’t be put off by hearing how expensive they are, this isn’t always true. They have many great deals and offers, my experience is the quality of the food is by far so much better than other supermarkets. The customer service is excellent and it’s never too much trouble to ask for any help.

Love this shop as a nice little treat the quality of the produce is excellent. I also like the fact they employ older people on a part time basis as their customer service skills are great. I would love to shop here every week but then I wouldn't have somewhere as a treat.
Keep up the good work.

Waitrose are not the most competitive of supermarkets although they have good offers. The offers change monthly around the 12th or 13th. Waitrose do offer a click and collect service but not at all branches. Waitrose fruit and veg are considerably more expensive but good quality. I particularly like the scan and shop system.
