Amazon versus Amazon Smile
Ask a Question
I obviously see a lot of deals for Amazon, but I like to use Amazon smile so that even though a tiny a small donation is made to a charity of my choice. Does this mean that latest deals miss out on promotion or does it not make a difference. If I see an item I like on here, I put it in my basket (non smile amazon) then switch to Amazon Smile to purchase it.
Hey michellejwest
Good question! I don't actually know the answer but, regardless, please do continue to use Amazon Smile as you have been irrespective of the impact it has on Latest Deals
Kelsey Hi Kelsey, can you please tell me how do I find out about Amazon codes? Thank you.
englishpaddy Hey! You can find all Amazon discount codes here:
www.latestdeals.co.uk/vouchers/amazon-uk
In future to find codes for a retailer all you have to do is search for the retailer using our search bar and then click the 'deals' or 'vouchers' tab depending what you're looking for.
On our homepage we also have quick links to the most popular retailers:
Hope this helps
This is something I’ve talked about on here several times before, and I put in the chat thread regarding how to improve LD (I mentioned the amount that Amazon deals are shared and bought it would be really beneficial for LD to promote and support using Amazon Smile), but didn’t get a response. I always use Amazon Smile and share any Amazon deals from Smile but don’t use Amazon very much. I think a lot of people don’t know it exists and how to use it although it’s essentially exactly the same and so easy to do and very beneficial for charities.
I assume I use or have used Amazon smile, I get an email from them every so often thanking me for raising so many hundreds of thousands for them... First time I thought wow I spent alot! But until you read it that it mentions that between everyone it's raised that number. Had a little heart attack for a bit
ch7leach as long as you have Amazon Smile turned on in the app, it will purchase with smile. If using the website you’ll need to have ’smile.’ at the start of the url so if you follow a deal link on here where they didn’t use a smile link it wouldn’t buy with smile. Hope that makes sense, if not let me know I’ll try to explain better
Michellejwest it doesn't matter the donation still gets paid as long as you pay via the Amazon smile checkout app.
englishpaddy Hi englishpaddy that is what I do, I just wondered why people never share via amazonsmile as maybe more charities would get donations as well. Also I assumed because I switch to buy my products through amazonsmile and not amazon, Latest deals don't get the advertising commission.
michellejwest I think it's because amazon.co.uk/ or www.amazon.com/ is their main website and not as many people are aware of Amazon smile unless they get a pop-up or redirected to the Amazon smile website.
englishpaddy yeah if you always buy in the app and you have smile enabled it will but if someone followed a deal link to purchase via website and it wasn’t posted with a smile url it wouldn’t generate the donation
kate1310 you can pick a charity of your choice and on certain things that you purchase they make a donation; it isn't much but soon does add up and at no cost to yourself.
michellejwest sounds great was just reading about it so you download a different app for it
kate1310 no need to download a different app, if you follow these instructions you can turn on Smile within the Amazon app: Open the app and find 'Settings' in the main menu (☰). Tap on 'AmazonSmile' and follow the on-screen instructions to turn on AmazonSmile on your phone.
If you use Amazon on a browser (not in an app), to use AmazonSmile, simply go to smile.amazon.com/charity?orig=%2F on your web browser (you need to have smile. in front to activate Smile).
I use Amazon smile as our chosen charity is a small one that helped our son when he was born and it is very close to our hearts.
