Complainers

When I joined Latest Deals, I thought it was a fantastic community, full of so many lovely members. I loved the fact that we could share deals and find deal, which also, of course, helped businesses, along with keeping the economy going.
I have saved a good few ££££ on latest deals and chatted to some lovely fellow members.
I have now found that I see so many members just complaining on members post when there simply is no need, its spoils our efforts to find good deals.
My parents always taught me, if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all.
So to the complainers, (who I've noticed don't actually post any deals)
Please just stop your silly comments on members deals, please let members enjoy our community spirit, and allow us to enjoy sharing our deals along with saving a few quid.
Thank you.
I think it’s because some people just post deals for points. When they’re not actually good deals. I used to post a long time ago. Because like you said it was a lot friendlier then. I don’t post deals anymore. I just pop on her every now and then. I used to look every day. X
Unfortunately, as usual, there are always a few who want to give their 'two pen'orth' in a negative way and as you say they are reluctant to share anything themselves (I wonder why?!). Please try and ignore these people and enjoy your time here. There are a lot of great people in this community and I feel sure you will like it here it you give us another chance.
tumblespots I couldn't have put it better - it is usually from those that don't share very much and yet they complain the loudest. I ignore them and now even avoid the chat. JulieAndre39773 is right - the tone of the commenting has changed.
I do not post deals often as whenever I go to post one someone else has beaten me to it! Which is fine it doesn't bother me. I just ignore all the complaining. Sometimes it is constructive and I agree with it, but most of it I just scroll past. I still think that we are a friendly community.
I think on the whole most chaps on here are good natured. Tom gave me a piece of advise back in the early days and sad 'haters will be haters' and he was right. Sometimes you just cannot please some peeps.
I would just scroll through and ignore them. It is rare that I bite to any negativity these days.
Stay safe. Xx
thing is i see a deal as a deal. maybe my deal isnt a deal to you or anyone else.
i dont really feel the need to save money on every purchase but just to find that one thing ive been looking for.
im quite happy with everything and i hope everyone else has positive experiences
I don't think things are as friendly here at latest deals as it used to be. Just my opinion. A lot of moaning does go on, why I don't know. Some people more than others seem to think they have a right to control what gets posted here. I think some people are quite territorial and see this site as their site to police. They want to control who posts and what they can post and their definition of what is a good deal/bad deal is what the site owners should be listening to. Some people really like to try and force it as well bringing it up again and again.
Thank you for your feedback, I'm sorry to hear you've received unconstructive negative feedback. If you find a member particularly irksome, you can mute them here. This will hide their comments from your posts and helps to allow you to continue to enjoy Latest Deals.
I am not sure what was said but I have to say that there was a thread the other day saying downvoting option would be good (which I think it would be) and Kelsey said that they prefer people to reply with constructive feedback on the deals instead, but that will lead to this kind of thing.
Kelseys post:
"The short version of our current position is that we prefer people leave a constructive criticism via comment rather than an anonymous down vote. That way the original poster (and other people) can see why the deal might not be very good"
Encouraging people to leave feedback as to why it isn't a good deal is probably why the op experienced whatever it was that happened, but that means that it is encouraged to do this.
Again, I don't know what deal it was but a lot of deals aren't deals and are clearly posted just for points.
I still think a downvoting option, a block and a report on each post function is needed tbh.
I hear you. This constant chat about what is or isnt a good deal yadda yadda yadda is so tedious & boring isn't it.. Do you know what I do when I think a deal isn't great? I move on! I go look at something else. It's so simple. Some people just enjoy being Debbie Downers it seems.
So no-one is allowed an opinion?
Just because you don't like what some people say doesn't mean they aren't being constructive in some way.
There are way too many snowflakes around who just want everything to be nicey nicey even when there's maybe a good reason for their deals/comments to be talked down.
Overreacting and unneeded censorship is not the way to go imo. We are all grown-ups after all.
We're supposed to be adults but I don't think replying to another person's comment with "blah blah blah" (nothing else) is a very adult thing to do. Most forums would do more than just remove the topic it was on.
In my OPINION "Blah blah blah" isn't an opinion it's trolling.
It's also my OPINION that derogatory slang such as "snowflakes or gets" (when referring to others) shouldn't be permitted. It really just demonstrates the inability of the wtiter to express themselves in a non-abusive way.
davidstockport I was replying to the usual nonsense that you put up tbh. And it was a direct comment aimed at your unneeded post.
Now if you can't cope with people who don't like YOU trolling, either mute me or suck it up.
There is an actual definition of 'snowflake' and I have used it in the right context.
You are just trying to stir up trouble like usual.
Thanks Johnny - my eyes aren't as good as they were. I had typed wtiter instead of writer (a genuine typo - now corrected)
