How Many Comps Do You Enter?

Ask a Question

*Sorry if this has already been posted, I'm sure it probably has in the past!*

Just curious, how long would you say you spend entering comps/how many do you enter on a daily, weekly basis? I personally normally check the site 3 or 4 times a day, but I only enter things I'm actually interested in winning (normally stays or money) as I'm not interested in just winning random things for the sake of it, but I feel like maybe some people enter everything?

Not won anything yet but fingers crossed I will soon! I enter quite a lot of paid comps online too, the 99p a ticket type ones, probably not the wisest but their advertising is always so persuasive 🤣

About 150 per day, don't enter what I don't want unless it would make a good gift for friend/family. Win approximately once per month. Spend roughly 2 hours a day.

Lynibis can I ask what sites you use except LD?

erinnmn I don't use any other sites as most end up on here anyway and others do not seem to be so user friendly.

Having said approximately 1 win per month I have had a dry spell for a couple of months so keeping my fingers crossed for a win before Christmas!

Lynibis wow 2 hours a day, that is real dedication. Good to hear you have won some in the past. were the wins worth the time spent?

SaveMeSunday well as I said on another topic a while ago, I live alone, getting on, and it is more of a hobby. A little bit like bingo with the hope of a win. I have had big and small wins but don't see the time spent in terms of worth, usually while watching tv, but as something to occupy me.

I roughly enter 2/3 a week if it is something that I would like to have or know someone else would like.

I just do not have the time to do many. I do find when you do them, I then get bombarded with emails from them.

eyeballkerry yeah agreed - i've seen people make separate emails for comping, but knowing my luck i'd win and never see the email lol

I don’t do them anymore, I used to do the ones in Magazines but stopped posting them because I don’t have any luck, You see some people who do them all the time because they always win 🤯 don’t get me wrong people are entitled to win but it’s annoying when you see those people who go on TV programs to tell people about their prizes (A long time ago I saw someone on this morning who won almost every competition she entered) Makes you wonder how are they selected every single time especially if it’s done Fairly, and when you hear the Radio Competitions and the DJ always seems to be on very good talking terms with the winner, so I do wonder which are genuine, I have sent tips to Magazines though and twice my tip was printed

I use to comp daily doing as many as I could but struggle for time these days. So I just enter the odd competition if I have time and like the prize. Superlucky me is quite good for information on current competitions if you need to purchase products ect but I think you can find most competitions on latest deals.

I enter a few a week and won a couple of times. I’ve had good success from Nestle cereal where you enter a code from the packet. The prizes are kids stuff but that’s sorted a few prezzies!

my current 'daily list' is just over 230, which has been reduced quite a bit over the last week or so. It has been over 500. Add to this aprox 30-40 a day from facebook / instragram / twitter on most days a week. I like to have a good go at the advent comps which is why I have cut back the dailies till after the new year. I am very organised so it does not take me that long to plow through the dailies as I open about 20-30 pages at a time.

I only enter my local newspaper competitions if they allow postal entries. I win at least twice a year. Petty prizes or promotional stuff prizes. I used to win at least twice a month from various postal competitions years ago. I used to enjoy getting a parcel or "collect from the delivery office/or fill in the other side form".

Depends on how much time I have but I try to enter about 5 to 10 competitions daily.

I used to enter over 300 a day every day for around 18 months. I only won once in that entire time, and that was a small runner up prize. I now only do them occasionally since I just don’t seem to have the luck others do and the time I put in isn’t worth it.

I used to enter 50-150 on average a day and got anywhere up to 12 wins a month, not all huge prizes, but was worth it for the enjoyment and the community. I used to do it around full time work too.

There was then a massive addition to the comping community and even more so during the dreaded few years we all had to spent at home and there were also less competitions due to the nations health.

I did pick up coming a bit more again recently but haven't had a decent win for awhile.

2020 was by far my worth year of wins, with just over £200 worth.

Although as far as number of wins go, this year is awful, I'm hoping for around 2 wins for December, considering there will be a lot of Christmas/Advent competitions around. 🤞

I do it for fun and have met some great people through it, if you don't enjoy it, it may not be worth someone's time and effort, considering no win is guaranteed.

I enter for anything I can use or gift to family/friends and charity comps too, so charities can win the prizes/cash.

I don't enter for many holidays, trips, days out unless fairly local as I'd have to work other things out and the UK holiday we did win, had to be cancelled our end, so don't want to go through that again.

It is best to stick with one site as you don't want to enter a couple of times when some competitions are one entry only or per household and you might disqualify yourself.

Hardly any and only if its from a known seller, otherwise its a scam just to get likes and your info to spam you

Dalton95 Not true, it can help grow people's businesses and make people aware of their business/products.

Yes some encourage you to join their newsletters, but once the competition has entered, there is no obligation to stay in it, you can unsubscribe.

Obviously you have to be cautious though and many fake accounts if you enter on social media, will send you fake winning messages.

You also don't have to sign up to give certain details, often they have phone number on the list but it isn't mandatory.

DeBunny I was called a winner by some, but it was obviously a scam because they kept asking me for my my details even though they said i only had 10 minutes to get back to them and they kept saying it wasnt a scam even though i never said it was, i would never run a fake competition just to to get page likes even though i have a facebook deals page

Not mentioning other sites but it's between 1-2 Hours a Day and I love the feeling of winning so I guess I win I enter just prizes I want but do share competitions with friends and family who I think might want to try for the prize.

It depends, some days it will only be a few, other days it could be hundreds. It depends how much time I have.
