Flood Warnings Forecast with More Heavy Rain to Come

In the News

Further heavy rain could cause a danger to life and travel disruption, the Met Office has warned, a day after a person died in a mudslide in North Yorkshire.

Flood warnings have also been issued across England with one in Scotland. National Rail has said its northern services are facing disruption, external, with a major line between England and Scotland closed due to flooding. Showers will continue to hit parts of the UK into Thursday, as yellow and amber warnings for rain remain in place.

I'm in Leeds and I don't think it ever stopped raining yesterday.

Has anyone else had really bad rain yesterday or were you lucky you didn't get as much or didn't rain at all?

Our daughter is renting in Leeds while at Bradford Uni & will be travelling to her Uni placement at Pinderfields Hospital Wakefield tomorrow...

I got soaked yesterday walking the 3 mile from work to city centre, wasn't expecting so much rain, only had my Skechers on..

I'm hoping it doesn't rain tomorrow as my parner & I are planning to do an open bus tour of Peak District for my birthday...I HATE rain on my special day & check the weather forecast regularly for 7 days before it!

Stay safe everyone...x

janphoenix51 hopefully the weather is dry for the weekend. Bit of a trek going from Leeds to Pinderfields, hope she gets there safe, sound and dry, the last thing she wants is to be trekking that far and end up getting soaked.

Yeah it rained here near Wakefield, and it was really cold too, crazy that we had to have the heating on at the end of may

In the UK some years ago the climate change was blamed as the cause for land erosion and flooding of lower ground. It has become apparent that some areas receive no or little help whilst others have infrastructure changes and flood resiliance barriers supplied. Like so many cruel realities this has become a postcode lottery as to whether your home and now after this news the lives of our children are important to those who make these decisions for our country.

Luckily for us we live in a very high area and we would be one of the last to get flooded, unfortunately when it snows we get cut off.
