Price Increases in Supermarkets

Money Saving

Im sure everyone has noticed that prices are not going up by a penny or 2, they are going in in pences, sometimes at least 50p per item. Has anyone noticed anything becoming cheaper at all? Apart from fuel which fluctuates constantly but only by pennies!!

Ah yes I’ve noticed cooking oil has come down in price. Last time I bought some it was £3+ but it’s less than £2 a litre now.

Morrisons own pizzas have gone up 80p won't be buying them again milk in my local Tesco has gone up from £1.15 to £1.75 I asked Tesco themselves why the price gone up so much they sent me a email back saying because it's because it's a express store and it's only £1.45 in the normal shop and I should try shopping there but the bigger store is half hour from me by bus

Leannexxx Tesco 4 pints online is £1.65. I didn’t know that it’s cheaper in store. Never too old to learn something new.

Pjran well that might have put it up then but think it was a month ago I emailed them because it was a joke they keep messing with the prices the highest it's been at my local is £1.95 for 4 pints then he went down to £1.50 it's up again to £1.75 and there 2 pints is £1.40 honestly I wouldn't buy it some much but my toddler drinks it alot

Leannexxx blimey those prices are quite random. My husband recently stopped at a Co-op and bought 4 pints, even he commented on the price.

Although most things have gone up - one thing that has gone down in Aldi is Pepperoni Pizza (314g) they used to be 69p but are now 66p. They're a very good one person meal too.

I used to cut them into eight pieces, but eight pieces were a bit too many - so I only cut them into six now,😀

I've not noticed anything coming down really, just a few prices staying the same. I have been managing to save money on a few items including butter using the sainsbury's smart shop though, so would recommend checking out your nectar card offers if you shop in store.

I haven’t noticed anything going cheaper. Although Terrys chocolate oranges have stayed the same price, usually £1. And Morrisons them at 75p

Some things are roughly the same price as usual, but more things have gone up than gone down. But I usually buy discounted things anyway

I very rarely go shopping the wife does it online mainly. If I do goto the supermarket I just buy what I need or want and looking at the price isn’t going to change the fact I need that item. So just put it in the trolley and pay..

I used to buy bottled water from Amazon 6 Bottles for no more than £5 but since Rona the prices have tripled easily charging £16 upwards 🤔That’s far more than the supermarkets 🤯 paracetamol used to be £2 chemists own But now it’s £5 🤷🏻‍♀️ I have Dissolvable paracetamol £7:99 shops own brand in the chemist but Home Bargains £2:99 for the same amount 🤦🏻‍♀️ I don’t mind the odd few pence but the prices are ridiculous I swear it’s done to prove we should have stayed in the EU 🤯

You just have to be really savvy and look out for the offers. I have a basic shopping list but price plays a major role in what I eat each week.
