Sainsbury's to Change the Way They Give Nectar Points
News
I don't like the sound of that. I think that could backfire for Sainsburys. If I can't get any points really when I shop there, then what's the point? I can go to the Tescos in the town centre instead who will give me points. I'll just do that.
Agree 100% ShellyAnn , If you don't want to reward my loyalty on a more fair basis then I will go somewhere which will !
Yes, they are making these changes at the same time as Waitrose are improving theirs. I would probably still go to Sainsburys but less often. Waitrose and Iceland are a bit closer (although Iceland's card is useless). I might also sign up for a Morrison's card which I keep forgetting to do.
I don't see this as being very fair. My local Sainsbury is too far for me to go on a regular basis. I used to drive past on my way home from work so would stop in, but don't drive that way anymore so not in as often. If I am not going to be rewarded for shopping there then I will just go somewhere else. This could seriously backfire on them. I have a small sainsbury near me, but it is the same distance as my Morrisons which is much bigger, so don't go to it either.
If I was Tesco or any other supermarket I would be laughing about this. I've been speaking to a few friends about it and we all say in that case, we won't go to sainsburys.
I live on my own so my shop isn't that large. So often, shops seem to think that they are doing you a favour. I am lucky in that I have virtually every supermarket within a short bus ride and I have a free pass so I can go to any.
I shop at different supermarkets, normally Tesco or Morrisons, but occasionally Sainsbury. The loyality points are definitely a bonus and I suppose they don't have to give you any, but I am more likely to shop somewhere that gives me them, as I use the money off vouchers you get from them to reduce the cost of my shopping or with the nectar points, we go to the cinema for a couple of quid, so for me, they are an incentive. I will just have to get my nectar points from nectar canvass instead.
