Established in May 1999, Turners Retreat is the retail arm of Robert Sorby Ltd, and over the last 20 years, has become one of the UK’s premier woodturning retail outlets. To celebrate 25 years of excellence, we’ve teamed up with Turners Retreat to give three lucky readers the chance to win a very special, limited-edition parting tool.
Special – from handle to tool tip
What makes these tools stand out is the fact that only 30 have been made, so they really are limited edition. The handle is also truly unique and special as it’s made from Sherwood Forest oak. This features a 25-year anniversary inscription, and finally, the blade is made by Robert Sorby in Sheffield.
Slim parting tool
A favourite among woodturners, this 2mm (1⁄16in) parting tool features a slim blade, which allows for a very fine parted section to be achieved. This is especially useful when grain match after parting is required – for example, separating a lid from its box.
Made from the finest Sheffield steel in Robert Sorby’s factory, the blade of this particular tool is 32mm (11⁄4in) deep, giving strength to such a thin section, which eliminates flex and vibration.
Please note the entry deadline for this competition is 19 April 2024.
