This autumn, Manchester Collective will invade Leeds Town Hall with their daringly different take on classical music – and you could win tickets.
Trust us when we say Manchester Collective is like no ensemble you’ve ever heard before. They’re trailblazers, modern maestros who are passionate about bringing classical music to a new generation of listeners. Their shows are intimate, performed in the round and often in unusual places, but more than that, they’re approachable – you can share their passion as they introduce you to music they love and you might be surprised to discover that it’s not the usual classical fare.
But don’t take our word for it – enter our competition for a chance to win tickets to one of their two autumn shows, with a delicious dinner before the music begins.

On Tuesday 9th October 2018, Manchester Collective will invite you onto the stage for Romantic Hero, an intimate performance of three classical masterpieces. You’ll be sat within touching distance of the performers, where you can hear every note and see every detail – it’s a whole new way to engage with classical music. Jayson Gillham, one of the finest pianists of his generation, will be making his debut performance with Manchester Collective, so you can hear a master at work as they take you through the moving, emotional music of Schumann and Kurtág.
If you’re our lucky winner, you’ll bag two tickets to Romantic Hero with a 3-course dinner at Ox Club before the show. From the Wood Pigeon Tacos to the Grilled Aubergine and the Salt-aged Lamb Rump, they get creative with their famous Grillworks Grill, so you can try all manner of delicious eats. And we’re even throwing in a bottle of wine.
Watch Pierrot Lunaire with a delicious feed at Gusto
Gusto
Alternatively, you could go to Pierrot Lunaire on Thursday 22nd November 2018. For the first time ever, they’re bringing classical music to the crypt. In this unusual underground space, you’ll be taken on an immense musical journey. Schoenberg’s masterpiece has intrigued and confounded audiences for over 100 years – it’s more than just music, this visceral performance will pick through the emotional wreckage of one woman’s life. They’re using David Pountney’s translation, so it will be told in English by BBC Radio 6 Music broadcaster Elizabeth Alker as Lotte Betts-Dean takes on the vocals.
If you’re our lucky winner, you’ll bag two tickets to Pierrot Lunaire with a 2-course dinner at Gusto before the show. Kick off the night with King Prawns or Sicilian Arancini Balls, before getting stuck into their exceptional range of pizzas, pastas and mains. It’s all served in a wonderfully swish restaurant and you can take it all in while you enjoy a bottle of wine.
