The Piece Hall hosts the Spiegeltent this Christmas, where you can enjoy family shows, live music, stand-up comedy and late-night cabaret.

Christmas is coming at The Piece Hall. From Friday 16th November 2018, you can enjoy a festive season of Christmas fun, with a humongous Christmas tree, an Après-ski style Nordic tipi bar and a Christmas Fair. Their circus-style Spiegeltent will be lavishly decked out to host 24 days of festive events – and we’re giving you the perfect excuse to check it out, just tell us whether you want adult fun or a family-friendly adventure.

Bringing friends, not kids? Pick our adult adventures package, and if you win, you’ll bag two tickets to nine unmissable events. It all kicks off on Thursday 6th December 2018 with House of Burlesque, the UK’s number 1 showgirls have a night of Christmas-themed provocation lined up for you. The Sunday after, you can enjoy an evening with jazz vocalist Jacqui Dankworth and her musician husband Charlie Wood. There’s comedy on Tuesday 11th December 2018, thanks to Desi Central, a hilarious cross-cultural night of laughs featuring Omar Hamdi, Hyde Panaser and Tez Ilyas. Then two days later, you can see a hit show straight from the Edinburgh Fringe as The Elvis Dead reinterprets the classic cult horror movie Evil Dead 2 using the songs of the King.

That’s not all. There’s a Silent Disco on Saturday 15th December 2018, so put on your headphones and choose from three channels of pop classics, dance anthems and party hits, before you return the next Monday for Bollywood classics played in the style of 60s soul and funk tunes at Botown. On Friday 21st December 2018, you can see British drag supergroup Denim play a set of old-school pop bangers, before your penultimate Spiegeltent show two days later – La Rouge promises a night of cabaret with diva Lili La Scala, comedy circus artist Abigail Collins and magician Oliver Tabor. Finally, on Sunday 30th December, check out with The All New Blues and Soul Revue, one of the UK’s finest Blues Brothers tribute bands.

If it’s a family day out you’re after, you won’t be disappointed by the Spiegeltent. Your prize kicks off on Saturday 8th December 2018 with the Kids Comedy Club – expect a trio of great comedians with jokes for all ages. Then on Sunday 16th December 2018, you can check out El Baldiniho, the daftest magician in Britain will wow you with tricks, jokes, songs and games.

The next Saturday, Comedy Sportz brings an all-action improvised show to the Spiegeltent, so you can watch as two teams battle it out for laughs from the audience with a referee to penalise bad jokes. Next up, Martin ‘Bigpig’ Mor brings his Funny Stuff for Happy People show to The Piece Hall on Monday 24th December 2018 – adults will enjoy themselves as much as the kids at this fun-packed show full of comedy, circus, poetry and storytelling. Three days later, Wacky Woody’s Comedy Magic Show rolls into town for a night of magic, puppetry and audience participation – and finally, The Boggle brings an afternoon of storytelling, comedy, puppetry, object manipulation and music on Saturday 29th December 2018, as you set out on an adventure with a very strange creature that lives on a farm.
