Hand washing is an excellent way of removing all the "nasties " from your hands . However you need an alcohol based gel (at least 60% ) to actually KILL viruses .
I implore members to actually do their own research and understand how to defeat this current "nasty" .
The current way (favoured by millennials ) of getting their news and information , Social Media , is full of Urban Myths , falsehoods and downright misleading advertising .
Perhaps just read articles on the "boring BBC " to find out real facts ?
You do realise that the NHS says that you should prioritise washing your hands first and use hand sanitiser when you don't have access to running water and soap (liquid or otherwise).
Hand santizer is a stop gap, hence it has to kill the germs as you don't use water to wash anything off your hands. It's not Covid-19's silver bullet.
evenflow82 Of course its not a silver bullet . Regular washing of hands is always the best way and soap (which is all this is) is ample for that purpose , as is a normal bar of soap .
Alcohol based hand sanitisers will kill the virus , this one won't so it is important that folks know the difference and realise it is not worth going on a wild goose chase for what is "liquid soap" .
In terms of the current threat antibacterial means nothing . Its a virus - not bacteria or germs .
These are no better than normal soap for washing your hands - if you want hand sanitiser then ensure it has at least 60% alcohol (ethanol) content ,
We are going to be a very clean nation once this crisis is past as everyone will have dozens of such products to use up which are no more effective than normal soap and water!
Gazz3 Granted , but surely those folks already have a good supply ? So who is clearing the shelves ?
I only wanted some as I always have them on the bathroom sink instead of soap . Didnt mean I wanted loads just saying I cant get none. Fingers crossed I get some today Golfforall
Or go to Lidl and try to get their Cien hand wash which does contain 75% alcohol and therefore far more use in the current climate ? If you must go on a wild goose chase at least try to get the right product . 60% + Alcohol (ethylene) on the label is the clue . This stuff is basically liquid soap ! That's fine if that's what you want ? but I suspect some folks are getting confused ?
Golfforall Not confused at all nor going on a wild goose chase??? Simply left a comment so no need to concern yourself...
cant believe the panic buying when people should be using hand wash as part of your every day lives
