Cheapest Non-Stick Frying Pans - Get a Bargain Here
Are you looking for a cheap non-stick frying pan? I've done a price comparison to find the best frying pan discounts.
Earlier this year I invested into an expensive non-stick frying pan thinking I'd never have to buy one again. I spent £20 on one supposedly endorsed by a Michelin-Star chef, discounted from £35. It was ceramic and said to be premium non-stick.
One month on, I could have used it as a winter tyre. It was stickier than a melted marshmallow or an entire pack of chewing gum on my shoe. Turns out, expensive frying pans aren't worth it. So where can you buy good, cheap non-stick frying pans?
Tesco, £3, FREE Click & Collect
Tesco basics non-stick frying pan is cheap at £3 but doesn't have the best of reviews. However, they're the kind of frying pan reviews where you have to ask - can you really expect that much from something that is £3? That's kind of the point - get a cheap frying pan to use it to death, then get another one. This isn't going to last you for life, just in the same way as my expensive one didn't last either. It's a disposable (recycle) tool.
Tesco, £4, FREE Click & Collect
This bigger frying pan (30cm - slightly larger than average) has better reviews. It's in the Tesco basics range and costs £4 with free click and collect.
Morrisons Teflon Frying Pan, £5
Morrisons has got a teflon coated frying pan (it seems this is the better substance for non-stick) for a fiver. This is 24cm which is a good size, available online and in-store.
Amazon, £5.49, PRIME Delivery
This one from Amazon is a normal size, costs £5.49 and includes free Prime delivery (if you don't have a Amazon Prime, get a free trial here http://ldeals.uk/free-prime-trial)
Argos, £5.49 FREE Click & Collect
Argos is selling a 24cm non-stick frying pan for £5.49. This is with free click and collect from your local store.
Tesco Teflon Frying Pan, £6, FREE Click & Collect
This is the cheapest frying pan with Teflon coating at Tesco. I'm not sure of the science, but there seems to be quite a big difference between frying pans with Teflon, and frying pans just with a 'non-stick coating'. Teflon coated frying pans all have better reviews...like this one.
Russell Hobbs, £6.49, PRIME Delivery
A Russell Hobbs non-stick frying pan, normal size (you want a frying pan that is 20cm +) for £6.49 again with Amazon Prime delivery (see link above for free trial).
Tefal Frying Pan, £7.50 at Sainsbury's
This is a half price deal at Sainsbury's on all Tefal frying pans. It's reduced online and in-store by 50% from £15 to £7.50. You can get a slightly bigger size for a bit more. Sainsbury's also had some frying pans at £3, similar to Tesco, but they didn't have any reviews so I did not include. Here's a link to the Tefal:
Jamie Oliver Tefal Frying Pan at Morrisons, £10
A frying pan with Jamie Oliver's face on it - really it's just another Tefal, with a red dot that tells you when it's hot - reduced from £16 to £10.
Please note - there are cheaper frying pans than I've listed here, for example Argos has 2 frying pans for £3.49 with free click and collect, but they are not non-stick. There are just frying pans. This article is for non-stick frying pans.
I also looked at Aldi, ASDA, John Lewis, B&M stores, Robert Dyas, Waitrose and Wilko.
What did I choose?
In the end I went for the Tefal, non-stick frying pan from Sainsbury's that was half price at £7.50. This had the combination of the best reviews online (when you looked at the same model online), was available for me to pick up for free from my local store, and a good 50% discount.
Should you be reading this after that deal has finished, I would go for the Morrisons teflon coated non-stick frying pan at £5.49. It's a good size, has the important teflon non-stick, and at that price, find if doesn't work out and you have get another one next year.
