Nice freebie thanks for sharing the wonderful freebie with usFor switch the energy then we can get the free amazon voucher so it can be more benefits
Don't be swayed by a £20 Amazon voucher ! It could be OK but bears research .
First ,have an accurate usage to hand - then go on a comparison site to find the best few deals for your usage .
Next go onto Top cashback see what Energy suppliers are giving as cashback for switching , often £80 -£120 !
Then do your sums to find the net cheapest (cost for 1year - Cashback )
U Switch and MSE openly admit they take a chunk of the commission they receive to run their service - I presume these are the same .
Finally, clear your cookies , go to the net cheapest provider (which you have already calculated) via Topcashback and do your switch there .
Now that's the best way way to get an energy deal every year - and I wouldn't mind a small wager that your deal will be much cheaper than this one ? Try it - only takes 10 minutes and some basic maths .
Some current cashback rates via Topcashback :-
Scottish Power 2 year fixed dual fuel £130
EDF 18 month dual fuel £120
SSE 1 year fix £65
British Gas Dual fuel fix till Mar 2022 £100
Bulb Dual fuel £40.40
U Switch £30
Money Supermarket £35
Just a few examples and er ………...…………...… "Free price Compare " £30.50 cashback via TCB !!!
Of course the cashback does not stack with the voucher - which would you prefer a £20 Amazon voucher or £30.50 cash ? or £130 cash ?
As previously stated do your research and sums to get the best overall deal . Any switch incentive is a good thing however in all honesty this is probably the "WORST" switching incentive currently available !!!!
Yeah, that's just a different type of promotion, people who aren't into cashback (which I found reliable 50% of the time) fighting and essentially wasting more money and time than it's worth after you eventually get the cash back (which will take like 6 months at least in my case, it's been 4 months and were told to wait till 6 pass). I'm so sick of the cashback websites by now a £20 voucher that I will use anyway is more appealing.
cookiewithcarro Each to their own of course . However I have found without exception over the years that a "free " Amazon voucher should act as a red flag to disguise a pretty poor cashback deal .
Don't mind MSE as they freely admit to keeping half of the cashback they receive to fund the MSE energy site - at least they are open about it .
If you use the method I outlined above you will always save far more , although of course , as with insurance cashback it does take 3 or 4 months for the cashback to be paid (although it tracks straight away ) .
That's an interesting observation you have made, I'm not really in the position to switch anything but get so many amazon vouchers from other sources that I honestly wish it was cash instead. Ah yes, I heard about the mse, love reading the website so wouldn't actually mind either.
I haven't had much luck with cashback apps yet (apart from those that pay almost instantly if you buy from shops) and I'm very wary.
cookiewithcarro absolutely. Cashback sights are a nightmare. Small print often says you may get a smaller percentage than STATED. If you actually get anything back after months of chasing. A straightforward voucher or reduction I'll go for. Cashback I won't
Mrmac As I said each to their own . I've never had a problem getting the promised cashback (even though it usually takes 2-3 months ) . The main thing is to clear cookies before getting the same deal direct from the supplier with £80 -£120 from Topcashback as I explained above . Fair enough if you are happy to pay an extra £60 -£80 to (maybe ) get a £20 Amazon voucher eventually - your choice of course.
Me - I'm far too mean to pay £100 more than I need to , just for a £20 Amazon voucher ! I have given the method above , it has always worked for me . Reading some of the other comments on this thread it seems the Amazon voucher isn't nailed on at all ?
British gas told me over the phone that on a new tariff I will only save 3p a year....pathetic! I used this link to see If I could save any more and I have managed to save £399! So thank you very much for posting this deal! To be honest though I think I am more excited to get my £20 Amazon voucher
Wow, that's a huge difference, I helped a friend look at car insurance plans in the comparison website and we picked one £299 cheaper than before and the extension the firm offered would be about £80 more than before. These companies will have it much harder to get people on board soon with so many other options but hey, free market!
Be prepared to wait months for the voucher. Iv just chased mine and they said they have to wait for confirmation from the supplier which can be from 28 days to 3 months! Even though I have had confirmation it can take a while for them to get confirmation
Have you got your voucher? I think they hope people eventually forget and the company do not need to bother, still got the client.
I switched energy supplier and got £40 cash back from Quidco.....thank you for sharing thou
I tried this comparison site yesterday and the prices were cheaper than what I am paying now. But I kept being harassed by phone calls since searching this website, had to block but hope they stop now.
cookiewithcarro even blocking one caller another has decided to spam Me with voicemails.
Top tip - when you are just comparing energy deals or even insurance etc just transpose a couple of numbers of your phone number , saves all those pesky calls . When you decide which insurance to buy or energy supplier to switch to only then give them your correct number .
